The Problem Isn't Jonathan

PoE2 is a failure at the fundamental design stage, they tried to mix soulslike "slow and meaningful combat" with an ARPG that prioritises speed and screen clears. They are trying to fuse two fundamentally incompatible game designs and managing to annoy both camp of fans!
Until they admit this and make a damn choice which genre they're going to make the game we will be in this whiplash inducing back and forth every patch which is killing interest in the game in general. Also they need to hire more people, the last poe1 patch was lacklustre, 0.4 was an obvious rush job with all the weird visual bugs, they've STILL not fixed Nvidia reflex (even though drivers fixed it and other games are working with it without crashes) and these constant gaffes across both games stinks of a dev team that's being rushed and having to pause development to ship a "good enough" product on time. PoE1 players suffered for years due to PoE2 development, current "vision" and terrible optimization/feedback/balancing/etc. from ggg in PoE2 is imho, slap and spit in face.
Cross-legged grins are exactly what I'd like avoid to see from developers with deceptive trailers for casuals and simpletons with 0% belief from me, like with this scam with showing Atziri's *ss. Most of dudes hyped that, and that's the problem Zuletzt bearbeitet von Offfit#6199 um 19.12.2025, 13:23:04

I think the biggest mistake was leading people to believe the game was almost ready then releasing it in the state it was in.
I don't think there is a problem with the way jonathan runs his game. I think player expectations were not set properly. I've come to accept that this isn't an "early access", its definitely suuuuuuper early stage testing. The definition for me for early access was what D4 had where you could play like 10 days before real launch. So when they said early access i was expecting maybe 6 months to a year and have everything in the game but its clearly 3-4 years away from having marauder, templar, shadow, duelist, and every thing else they have they're cooking that they have talked about. The true endgame is probably a little sooner than that but who really knows. |

" Very good point here. IMO if you're this far away from release, then put it back in closed beta. What makes this so egregious is that it's being advertised and marketed as a full release. It feels dirty. |

Problem are absolutely Jonathan and Mark but people need to vote with their wallets and not give them any more money until "the vision" changes.

I love GGG but they need to stop bouncing so quickly between POE and POE2. Get POE2 to 1.0 and stop messing around. POE has been around for years and the fanbase will always come back. We are 1 year from when we said POE2 would be 6-12 months away and we are still at the start of 0.4

They had like 8 people working on poe1 for years and it was great. They were high level developers. I think they have the talent split right now and thats hurting them. Especially with poe1.
I think poe1 is being ran by all new guys with mark overseeing their decisions. Just judging by this last league. Which was an ok league but the tree makes poe feel like d4 with the tree quest that just shits out gear. |

" I was not invested in POE 1 like many of you. I did not know the team was so small on POE 1. Everything I learned about GGG before POE 2 was from my brother in law who has thousands of hours in POE 1. I wish Chris Wilson would jump back on the ship.
