Everyone agrees D2 was the best in the genre. That has nothing to do with the fact you hate POE 1.

I hated PoE1 mostly because the gems went into armour slots. Never liked that approach to itemization, just my personal preference. Gladly, PoE2 itemization is far superior.

To be honest, the PoE2 community seems to be open to players coming from the D2 community and offering fresh ideas to GGG. I hope PoE2 moves toward D2 and away from PoE1. I see alot of D2 in PoE2, which is fantastic.

But that's not actually cloth that protects a wizard but a magic barrier called Energy Shield. So magic barrier being stronger than ordinary metal actually makes alot of sense.

So instead of nerfing ES, I suggest to add some +2-3% max life on certain medium nodes on the passive tree. Because every character will get medium nodes at some point and having some additional +3% max life on their will certainly help to buff life users without nerfing ES to hell.


I agree with this. there are no need to nerf anything but give more acces to life on the tree for EV/armour players. It doesnt have to be as much as the energy shield because you take less damage overall. But we need a bit more life i feel. That would be enough to balance the difference imo.

The problem is that would be trivializing the game with all this added life, better to nerf ES now to maintain a challenging game. Otherwise, PoE2 devolves into D4 clone garbage. I hope GGG keeps true to their vision of visceral combat.

As someone who recently hit 10k ES, I've already had some scenarios where I suddenly got slapped and lost 3/4 of it without seeing why. If ES gets nerfed, there's going to be a lot of 1shots out of nowhere.

"Now you know how armor/evasion life builds feel", you may argue.

Buff those defenses so they feel as strong as ES or nerf monsters to prevent potential 1shots first. It's bad enough that PoE 1 has unfair rippy encounters that you don't see until it's already too late, it shouldn't be a staple in PoE 2.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

I think 10k ES is way too much. As endgame Life builds have around 2-3K life, the max ES at endgame should be double that of life, which is around 4-6K ES.

Absolutely not. Monsters are already too easy, don't want to remove any more challenge from the game.
