The Syndicate Lag Tax
" You can tell someone hasn't ever worked support.... Minimum requirements is a key thing, and they only recently stopped supporting WinXP. It's one thing for a customer to try to run a game without a supported video accelerator, (I say that instead of card as some IGPs are nice enough they can eclipse decent level cards... it only took over 10 years) it's another for them to exceed min specs and have an unplayable experience - that's what ultimately killed Synth league, not the mechanic itself. Regardless, if its supported, its supposed to be playable. The long load delays caused from having to load so many additional resources is the problem - a problem that was nearly nonexistent in comparison during the actual league. Why? Because it didn't have to load so much for a single instance. No one makes sure their stuff "runs perfectly", too many variables. But as I said before, they only dropped XP recently. Win7 is still supported. For those of us around for Vista, most of us reverted to the OLDER XP for reliability and stability. XP lacks the proper architecture for the newer hardware with 64 bit and multicore/threading support but 7 is still new enough to cover all that, at least for a bit longer. It's weird to see someone say "only 4 gigs" of vram (and even weirder still to not bother indicating which ddr after going that far). I still remember when 3Dfx was still in the market as a major player, and two texels was a big deal. Hell, my first computer was a 386 66mhz with a whopping 100mb hd, with all of 2mb of ram, not even a soundblaster for audio just pc speaker chirps. It's easy to brag about having great performance when you're throwing a few grand around every year or few, but most gamers don't have that luxury. There are reasons the console market has a much bigger share, and cost is one of them. Plenty are below legal working age and plenty more have more practical expenses. The last time I had over 3k go into a machine was the 90s and that was when Cyrix was vying for a share of the cpu market. That Intel P2-400 fell behind like a brick. Hardware doesn't make huge jumps like that anymore. I remember when SSDs were fresh - insanely expensive and constant write/rewriting (ie normal use) meant a very short lifespan. They've only fairly recently become practical, yet have actually existed for years. And just for a point of reference: https://www.pcworld.com/article/246617/evolution-of-the-solid-state-drive.html#slide2 Overclocking was a big thing back in the day, but only for dedicated enthusiasts willing to risk it. Now that multi-cores are the norm, that group has shrunk. Unless you're running water or a peltier cooler, you aren't gonna get much more and still remain stable. Yep, totally over league play.

There are literally hundreds of pages of complaints about syndicate/intervention lag if you bother to google it.
They are all POST Syndicate league. That league ran fine and dandy. It was shit code they added when they changed the encounter rate in Synthesis that caused the problem, not the betrayal stuff itself. Literally no one said anything during the league, what does this tell you? It is clearly a bug from GGG and they refuse to own up to it and investigate it, let alone fix it. I used to support them but not anymore. I would rather give my money to EA (who would never pull something this bold btw). It happens to people across OS, SSD, HDD, Intel, AMD (although seems to be less likely on intel), with varying amounts of RAM (from 4 to 64), all kinds of fucking cards, from pretty rubbishy cards up to way higher than game requires. Happens to people with very fast internet, etc. I call that NOT user end. GGG is now, I hate to say this, a shitty company along with ATT, EA, other losers that receive worst customer service "awards" all the time. Censored.

I had 5 sec Freezes when the Syndicate Ambush Encounter started. No Time to react only solution was a Logout Macro. Then i deinstalled the Game and deleted the Poe Files in the Documents(Go to hard disc then user-documents-mygames-PathofExile).After fresh install the Games runs SMOOTH without Freezes when Syndicate spawns.I didnt change my System Hardware or anything else so it have something to do with old Files imo.

" Right after beta, when I started GGG was great, way beyond expectations. Now they devolved into just another company looking for money and fucking customers. Wilson talks a great deal but he doesn't MEAN A FUCKING WORD. The game will remain crap until way past September. Fuck this game. Screw GGG. Nuff said. |

" They never released numbers how much of the time it was completely skipped, I bet it was in the 90-95% range. |

LOL this still isn't fixed 3+ months later? Pathetic, absolutely pathetic. Even kickstarter games fix stuff like this within a week.

" it tells me they changed the preloading of ingame assets. in betrayal every instance had masters so they permanently loaded the assets. in synthesis, finding instances with masters in it is a challenge, people use tools that detect the loading of master assets when you load a instance. this requires that master assets are loaded with a delay to prevent people mass spamming instances to find masters. it's the same issue with instances having niko for delve ressources, thouhh loading those assets delayed doesn't cause problems obviously. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill! They should really pre-load as much as possible and that's a lot of it when you have 16+ GB of RAM. They don't.
On 64-bit system they could pre-load everything and let Windows memory swap system deal with it. For many users the situation would be better this way. :-) P.s.: GGG won't believe me, but they haven't tried as well. :-) MY CHALLENGES ARE DONE ON HC, IT'S NOT SC GUYS!
