The Syndicate Lag Tax
I made a post about it on reddit saying, if after a whole league of Syndicate lag we should at this point consider it a "feature", but the comments were all about " i have no lag", "maybe you should upgrade your toaster", etc..
The fact is, i have friends with the same problem, and also, we all played the actual Betrayal league without a problem, with no lag, but Synthesis was just awful. |

" What about benchmark? Why cant we have benchmark, I mean that would at least let us submit all the scores that would emphasise some glaring problems... I dislike rarity so much im almost quitting poe2. GGG.

What about benchmark? Why cant we have benchmark, I mean that would at least let us submit all the scores that would emphasise some glaring problems...[/quote] Don't be naive. They can monitor exactly what's going on. Pretty eazy to just log frame times. They know about it. They have the numbers. See if you have the numbers you now have to analyse those. Part of those numbers is how much money you have "invested" in Poe. How much of a fan boy you are! My bet is that they crunshed the numbers and concluded that most people which are having this problem are not paying customers. That would make sens since people who are not spenders won't just change computer or throw money at mtx for no reason (hence the potato computer). It's probably the same group. For a company it's a dead demographic. A strain on the servers :) Pretty sure they don't like the situation but like I said for rentability they move their working force elsewhere. That does make sens. From a gameplay point of view I just find betrayal crappy. Again if most people like betrayal (giving priority to paying customer) they will leave it. |

I'm sorry but this has been going on now for an ENTIRE league. It makes GGG look either incredibly incompetent or incredibly nasty.
Censored.

Getting rid off xp loss would make game boring with no motivation. Everyone would be lv. 100. Many would lost interest to play. Why if you die nothing really hapens only loose portal. This is what we want? I don't.

Thank you everyone who took the time to reply.
I don't think its my toaster or my potato internet that is nowhere near the Asian connection, lol what ever that meant. I have played 100s of games on this machine online with no issues at all until I came across the green portal of xp loss "The Syndicate Tax". I hope this is fixed soon because I really like this game. |

" It's kind of funny people talking about lag... I've got a machine that, when I built it 2 years ago was a HOSS, now it's median at best. I never, not once, ever experienced any sort of lag when the green cloud mob spawned. DxDiag reports: Intel i7 7800 3.5ghz (Ivylake) Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 (x1, running two monitors) Approx Total Mem: 24311 VRAM: 8088 Shared: 16223 Display Mode (x2): 1920x1080 No lag, no stutter, no issues with the green cloud of instant death. What kills me, near every time, is GREEN FOG & BEAMS. GREEN MOBS. GREEN BOSS. GREEN PORTAL. All in the same area. I'm not color blind, but green on green on green is hardly conducive to seeing WTF is going on while trying to find that annoying as F GREEN boss icon! Patch Notes 3.15:
Fixed a bug where players believed the game was playable. This has been corrected and made retroactive. Patch Notes 3.19: Fixed a bug where players adapted to 3.15. This bug cannot be corrected, so we have implemented a 90% reduction in item access as a punishment. |

Ok, if you have a fast enough cpu, a fast enough video card, and a high enough Internet speed with low latency, then the only thing left is how must ram you have and how you have configured your Windows. Next should be to post specs including total ram and version of Windows. If the 4 main items can be eliminated (you exceed the minimum real world requirements to play PoE) then those who stutter either don't have enough ram and Windows is invoking its virtual memory function (bad since its doing memory segment swapping to the C: drive) and/or some other code in memory like maybe the anti-virus is thinking it needs to scan the Syndicate Betrayal encounter code when the portal pops up.
I know that I lag because I only have 8 GB ram on my Windows 7 Pro OS. I definitely need to get another 8 GB to have enough to prevent Windows from using the memory swap file. I've done my own testing and when I deliberately disabled my virtual memory I can play PoE for awhile but eventually it will use more and more memory for the different zone/map assets (different tilesets, creatures, etc.) and crash with an "insufficient memory" dialogue window. When that happened it froze my keyboard and mouse so there was no graceful shutdown. A hard reset and Windows reboot was required. Turning virtual memory back on and no out of memory crashes so my swap file is getting used at some point running PoE so I'm guessing when the Syndicate Betrayal encounter portal pops up another chunk of ram is being allocated by PoE and I'm over my 8 GB total so Windows has to use its memory swap file. Even with a Samsung SSD we never want that to happen. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |

The whole game is a lagfest since Betrayal. They really need to adress all the lag that were not there before, not only betrayal. Lag into the first login where you can't reach your hideout and you're timed out back to the character screen, lag during EVERY map loading. Game has become unbearable.

" Harsh but honest. Between the nerfing of niche items and the mess that was synthesis, the negatives are piling up. While its gotten better since release, it should have been tested better before hitting live. Given how many resources have to get loaded as is, it would have made way more sense to have more frequent singular encounters instead of trying to stuff 3 with all the other layers alongside an entirely new league mechanic. Increasing the time needed to unlock crafting recipes in a mechanic that already degrades performance just compounds the frustration. There's a tab sale going on right now and though I could use more, I won't spend another dime until they regain my trust and I have faith in the product again. Yep, totally over league play.
