The game had great vision of actual action combat instead of being another mindless screen exploder.
Deleting whole screens of mobs and cc'ing boss to the point he can't even move - you like to call it not a slog and a fun gameplay loop, but it's really where game stops happening, think about it.
The struggle causes you to think, change your approach, adapt and grow with it - you actively play the game.
As soon as you delete everything without a thought, your time would be better spend on cookie clicker games, you would be clicking and increasing some artificial number that doesn't even matter anymore from the start to finish, seems to be exactly what you expect this game to be.
You would say that ruthless feels like a job, but the truth is different, what is really a job? An endless repetition. That's what exactly zooming is, every encounter looks the same and doesn't matter anymore.
Couldn't have said it better. +1

It's not different at all, you're just talking nonsense.
And who is this arbitrarily defined group of people you talk of, I am also "people" and I don't have this expectancy at all. And I've seen many like myself as well.
Moreover and more importantly, this is not what they've said PoE2 will be... they specifically said they want Engaging Combat/Good combat. One shotting screens of enemies is not engaging combat or good combat.
I have specifically bought early access because of that reason, otherwise I wouldn't have even bothered with PoE2.
Yes it is different and I explained why.
this group of people is literally just most people who play poe arpgs. Yes some weird people exist that want it slower.
Most people dont. Most in demand items are for builds that clear the fastest, ie, lightning arrow deadeye. If you are going to argue that this isnt indicative that people like going fast, you are the one speaking "nonsense"
I also dont know why you keep making this fake basis for your fake argument that implies the game starts off or takes very little time to get to "screen clearing with 1 screen wide explosion" most builds arent doing that in delerious 6 mod t15/t16 maps and it takes a while before you can do that even on builds that can.
Like I said in my first reply, turn on hardcore ssf, and perhaps also close the build guides. You're mostly causing this problem for yourself and asking the devs to ruin the game for most of the playerbase because of it.

Just a lot of yapping with no substance. Game got progressively easier since 0.1 and more PoE1-like, no question about it.
The argument that people are demanding items for builds that clear the fastest is so incredibly narrow minded as well. Of course a lot of people will optimize for the best outcome to farm as efficiently as they can... that's the conclusion any sane person would arrive to. But that's only because they are given that possibility by GGG. What are they supposed to do, intentionally handicap themselves? There's literally no other option. Not that hard to understand.
That's the kind of argument that also goes exactly against what other smart-asses suggest like "Just play a bad build"... why would any rational person do that unless they are a streamer and do it for views? Which by the way, that's what hardcore is for, it's fake difficulty.
As for ssf I've already explained very clearly why that's dumb and many others have as well.
Also perhaps you stop assuming that I follow some build guide, because guess what.. I'm not and the result was all the same.

Sorry but this is probably the worst argument I've read in a month lmao
People adapt to state of the game =/= people like the state of the game

That doesn't change much.
There is still the same huge monster density in HC SSF and abilities are the same, one button screen-clearing.
The game absolutely forfeits on any combat and the clearly most efficient way is to explode everything as fast as possible, which gets boring extremely quickly.
theres always the way of not running META builds

Exactly. Well said.

Most people want to play the game. A tiny niche wants to press 1 button and "win". Most normal people find this type of playstyle boring with no stimulation. Get your facts straight.
PoE 2 has a much bigger target audience than the original. You can't expect GGG to reduce this game into a garbage 1-button spam fest that nobody wants to play.

True, it is about consistency of whole game around the board. If you're promised a challenge and grounded experience, but the other guy just removes everything with one click and is in the same economy as you - the whole experience is completely out of touch.

You know if you paid attention to the forums people come out in floods complain whenever GGG does something that makes the game slower. In other games, D4 for example, thin mob density was constantly complained about and was what many people cited as to what made the game boring. Path of exile 1's thick mob density is argueably one of the most important aspects to it's success. If you search for "mob density" for Last epoch, you will find pretty much all posts basically saying more density = better. The same trend is found in Grim Dawn.
So all of the world's most popular ARPGs, the players want dense mobs, and obviously the ability to clear those mobs.
yet somehow, it is the worst argument you ever heard that most people play LA or other screen-clearing builds because they enjoy it, not because theyre simply "adapting"
yea man I dont care about what you think is the worst argument.

Yea Im not reading all that after you started off your post like that. Theyre not gonna make the game slower for you. I look forward to your 3rd thread on this same topic.
