End Game is TOO Punishing.

In PoE 2, almost everyone can find the reason to not play it. It's too punishing for those who wants relaxing gameplay and not challenging for those who is looking for the challenges. It's phase with meaningful combat is too short for those who like it and too long who those who wants to zoom-zoom. And there is no way to fix it by just polishing and adding content, without completely changing direction of the game. Because if you make it better for one group of players, it will be worse for another one.

I agree. But there are also players (me) who enjoy the game as a whole. I like the challenge and punishment. To me it's exactly how I want it. I also enjoy how slow my character starts and how faster they become with growing power. I don't like zoom-zoom so I don't play it. But overall the game is exactly what I expect from an ARPG.

But then there is no endgame for you. Well, you can restrain yourself from too powerful skills and items, and forget about things like breaches or ritual, but wouldn't it be more fun if you wouldn't need to, if any content would be available without zoom-zooming and if you could use any skills without transforming gameplay into meaningless zoom-zoom?

Yes, I agree. Zoom-zoom need to be and probably will be toned down. Breaches and Rituals are perfectly doable without meta builds (even with something like Molten Blast warrior) it's just not the most effective way.
But people who only wants to zoom-zoom will not be happy about it, and since it might be majority of PoE 1 players, GGG might listen to them, Idk. Well, will see how it will go.

And for those players there is PoE 1. Making these two games different is the main reason why both exist together.

I just not sure if GGG already realized it. Right before EA launch, they said that if PoE 1 players will not be happy with PoE 2, they would consider it as a fail.

Completely agree.

The smartest and only option they have is to go with the majority view. If they don't the will be stuck with the small amount of players poe1 had for the last decade. Its on them to decide but hundreds of thousands are willing to stay from what I can tell provided improvements are made. If they don't make them people will forget this game even exists and move on. Will be stuck with the trash player base they had the last 10 years. This game doesn't have to be specialised for a small group of people. They already nailed the campaign and this is the only reason 80% of the current player base are still here including myself. They are so close to hitting out the park I just hope they stick to the campaign view and don't revert back to peo1 because that's all they know how to do.

Comfort zone for the devs right now will tank the game for good and they can't afford this.

Mapping in end game feels like a unique form of torture right now, if you make even the slightest mistake you might as well quit the game for the rest of the night, and you are ENCOURAGED to quit. Any one punishment might be fine, but you get NO more juiced map, NO more juiced waystone, NO more exp. might as well slot in a fucking tier 1 and run your little walk of shame. It's not fun, it's not FAIR, and it's not GOOD. It's so hard to see othen with all the flashy effects and too dark maps, Delirium is a suicide device, and any basic bitch enemy can jump in from off-screen to insta gib you at any point.

I might be just repeating often said views and points, but for fuck's sake it has to be said, and it has to be heard.

Agreed.
And the worst worst worst part of Mapping?
Is the Forum Trolls who come here with their elitism to tell you that you're wrong about everything.

That to me is the worst most punishing aspect of the game so far.

Yeah because when you are bad in a game that's definitely the game's fault and everyone who say otherwise is a troll. Got it.
