One Try Per Map is Antithetical to The Fun Established in POE1's SC Experience.
" I wonder if there is a streamer who spreads this rumor or something going on. Way too many people repeat this, and it is clearly wrong. |

" Don't watch any streamers, but I did get one shot multiple times. If you haven't good job! So why does it ruin your fun if you let other people have a game mode separate from yours that is easier? |

I played to maps and this is my experience, I'm not quoting anyone.

Well, my experience is dozens of maps deathless, white mobs hitting me all the time but mostly doing scratch damage, not a single purchased item via trade - everything was found or crafted.

Rather than bricking the atlas node, perhaps resenting the map and losing the experience and loot you gained ,so you have to replay it again? Or resenting it and randomize it for subsequent runs.
Just my thought. |

Didn't even know trading is available, outside of the currency exchange tbh.
What about a toggle button on the popup on the map, where you socket the Waystone? We could call it "Doryanis Challenge" or something like that? You get one death, but you get +10% MF or something like that, someone whos better at the game and balancing could figure out the risk/reward on that one. What I'm trying to say is: I don't see how having separate difficulties or game modes or even togglable options like that is influencing your personal enjoyment of the game. If some players want easy, trade, non-HC - let them have it. If some want ruthless, SSF, HC - let them have that. We all want PoE2 to succeed and to enjoy playing it. If I don't enjoy something, it does not mean it should be removed completely. If you enjoy something I don't we don't have to agree. Having mandatory stuff that people do not enjoy, just makes those people not want to play the game, and I think that is a shame, in a world where togglable options and separate game modes exist, I think there is a way to satisfy a lot of different types of players. |

Right, I think we shouldn't be forced to play deathless characters to play the game. I'm not saying I can't do that, I just don't think it's healthy to force it to be that way.
We get it, there's tank archetypes, but what's the point of the rest of the entire class system, item system, skill system, passive tree, if 1 play style (unkillable) is viable - for general gameplay. For uber boss killing, sure, but not just general mapping. 1 portal maps being mandatory is an absolute game killer. Rather than attacking every single person who leaves feedback, on a personal level, trying to make them appear wrong, just let them leave their feedback. To be fair, I think I could accept a compromise on this, like that you lose some kind of buff or status (it can be just a vanity stat like delve for example, where you've been deathless for so long, or it can be game affecting even, I'm OK with it either way), or it could be that you have a half way point, for example 3 portals instead of 6, or some kind of portal conduit acuity or something, which could be a status on you while you're in a map, where if you lose so many charges, the connection to the map is lost.
In effect: 6 portals for the purpose of trading. 3 death charges where if you lose them, you lose the map. This could even be an atlas passive you can invest in. Perhaps after unlocking your first atlas passive, you have the option to spec this right away. Zuletzt bearbeitet von Busdriver_Jow#5238 um 12.12.2024, 19:15:44

Just quit the game over this. I mapped for a good 2 hours tonight and was able to complete two (2) of them. The final straw was that I was about to fight the last 2 rares in a map and died right before.
Won't be picking this game back up unless they fix some of these issues. I'm just not having fun, and I've huffed enough "maybe it'll get better" copium for one week. |

" I totally agree. An atlas passive is a good idea, the first point you get can be put into this passive, giving you a "debuff" of some sort but letting you die more than once per map. I could live with an XP gain penalty for the rest of that map for each death, that might be a good one. Every time you die in a particular map you gain a -5% XP gain for that map. Lets you have the 6 portals, but at a hefty price. Could be -X% quantity or MF, what ever. Just don't force me to play this quazi-HC. I left the game yesterday before I started writing on the forums, after I died on a map due to an explode on death effect, and I will not be playing it until we get more than one life per map. The only other time I wrote on the forum was to ask for help from the support team, I don't usually interact with forums at all. But I had to in this case, because I really want to like the game more, and to play it more, but I do not want to have the one life rule, and I will not be playing it at all, unless that changes sadly. |
