PoE turning p2w?

You have that a bit backwards. Being owned by a Chinese company that is able to prioritize long-term growth is better for a studio than being owned by US private equity that insists the studio generate max value each quarter.

If you are insinuating that Tencent is telling GGG to make money off RMT, all I have to say is, you're wrong.

Except Tecent is subject to CCP. That's why they're now blacklisted in NA.

On one hand your have private companies doing a profit circle bubble with potential of collapse.
On the other you're most certainly funding military and other non-game related industries.

Of course they want to keep it going. They are the largest gaming market in the world and produce absolutely nothing. They own 30% of all gaming. That's 60 billion for free.

They have absolutely ruined gaming and they're not going to stop / can't be stopped.

I find HC SSF to be a great solution to such concerns.
HC SSF. What else? Ruthless when?

If it is a double post let me know i didnt find anything relevant. Someone has to address the fact that there now online sites selling raw currency and items ingame for real money. Some of them even advertise themselves at youtube videos.
I have around 250hours on this league and ive noticed many things. I wont even mention they inflation of the market due to temple that was either a huge mistake or you are preparing a huge turnover in the core essense of the game. What i want to focus on is that people now keep on endlessly farm raw currency only to sell online to other players. Since when this is something GGG supports and not bans? It pains me deeply to see my favourite game going down the drain all for the sake of making extra money...MAKE POE GREAT AGAIN PLEASE!!!

i honestly dont get people who buy currency though, the league will end and all their shit will go to standard and nobody plays standard league.

Blacklisted by the US DOD, not blacklisted in North America. Canada does business with Tencent, and I believe Tencent owns a Montreal gaming studio.

Outside of things like using points instead of realworld currency, almost nothing in there applies.

Unless you're an attorney who specializes in this area, you are just talking on the internet. How will the EU classify the PoE trade system and "addictive grind" choice architecture? If players have a "right to a fair grind," does PoE require excessive playtime?

Most invasively, if PoE-related RMT sites are associated to money laundering, PoE might fall under requirements to "Know Your Customer." Online gaming platforms will be expected to have a Duty of Care to prevent illegal activity.

I don't know any of these answers, and neither do you. However, the OP asked what could be done to reduce RMT around the PoE2 marketplace. And the main answers to that question right now are: bind items to accounts (not a PoE option probably), make people level before they can trade (which is why Ange is in Act 4, not Act 1), and know the government identity of high-volume traders (not implemented yet).

Yeah, you really need to share that shit you got. It's clearly some really good shit.

3rd party, non-affiliated, unofficial, unapproved RMT sites are going to cause the maker of the game to fall under gambling laws... did you even read what you wrote before you hit submit?

You seem to be confused, RMT is NOT part of the game, it is NOT run by GGG. It exists, but not under the control of GGG.

GGGs business is MTX, which is NOT tradable to other players. Some laws may affect that (such as restrictions on loot boxes, or support packs). RMT for in-game items is NOT an official part of the game and outside of making this a single player game is not 100% avoidable.

Hideout warriors already exist. The fact that a player can spend 12 hours per day trading instead of playing is something that can potentially cause the trade structure to be classified as a "shadow market" and fall under regulation.

If you look at the 2026 update to the Anti-Money Laundering Directive, you will see that they added requirements to keep a ledger of high-value virtual goods. If a regulator says "100 divines is worth one dollar because that's what it sells for on average on RMT sites," then GGG will be responsible for keeping a ledger. The behavior of 3rd-party RMT sites affecting what the company does is exactly the point.

You should see how many third-party pages offer currencies from PoE2—they are like ants! :D :D
I always repeat: trading in PoE2 is the coffin nail for this game.

What are you talking about?:D You know you have ssf option right?
inflation this league is crazy because of temple... yes, we have massive problem with rmt, but it doesnt reflect this league
Well @all who anwsered. I didnt made this post to tell you i cant play the game. I have been playing poe since 2015 i had fun in league, yes i know its an online arpg, but that doesnt make it ok. And to stop the ssf suggestions i dont like cause i like to change builds frequently.

My concern is that PoE 2 is taking an BIG turn. Not sure i 100% disslike it but i definately dont like people spending money to get currency instead of farming it. For the 1st time in the history of the game we are experiencing power leveling. From 10 level to 96 in less than 10 full runs of temple and then an one hour ride through campaign with a lvl 96 full geared char. I may be too nostalgic about what gaming, developing andd playing alike, used to mean. Having fun. Now it seems all is beeing done for money. Sad
