What's strange is that you have no concept of balance between classes/ascendancies/skills/builds and think that the game shouldn't attempt to balance these things.

Balance (OBVIOUSLY) matters. 95% of players are playing in trade league. They are all participating in the same economy. When some ascendancies/builds are so far above the others, they have a massive advantage in the economy. This isn't an offline singleplayer game. It should be obvious why people care.

It has one weakness. You can't play a CI Bloodmage.

Yes, in a perfect world everything would be balanced but the issue here is really the BM ascendancy? Is it not Comet and the CoC and the CoEA?
It seems to me that the focus of this is the death of BM and that makes zero sense. People will always play what is easy and they will find that, either is with a BM, a Ranger or whatever.
Is the BM a better ascendancy that many others? Probably. Is it the best I really doubt that. It’s one that works best because of how stupid mana works in high levels? Maybe.

Want to solve most of the power issues in PoE2? Remove the +level in equipments. That was an absurd choice by GGG that ruins the game.
