There is an honest new video from fubgun on his channel on youtube where he confirms that the main nerfs are for players who still want to build a temple, not those who already have one.
Fubgun: "I want to make it clear, I really do not care for the currency nerf, it's still extremely OP. But now we're going to have a massive mid-league legacy wealth gap, those who had their temple built and those who don't (since building a long snake chain is extremely hard post-patch, probably 200hrs~ of gametime is now required over the previous 30-40hrs.)" "Tldr: They screwed over the 99% and buffed the 1%." GGG entirely missed the mark on this nerf, all they did was pull up the ladder. While there's less loot now, it's still overpowered. He literally says it will now take forever to build a temple like the one he has. Previously it took aproximate 30 hours; now he estimates it will take 200 hours. So a slap in the face for everyone who's just started or is in the process of doing so and had already invested many hours to do so. Why not just nerf the loot in Temple like they do? I’m level 96 and fought Atziri once. You can guess how that went (she melted in 3s). People like him are the main reason of this mess (they think using exploits are "clever use of mechanics"). Using exploits, monetizing the content on twitch, earning money, fame, and also spreading the exploit to half the server, making it impossible to GGG ban ppl. All that under the flag "before me just a few ppl did the exploit now everyone can do, im the good guy", while the game burns down for a few subscribes.
