Player power needs to halved globally if they want this game to not be brain off slot machine.

I like playing Deadeye. I liked playing Invoker, Gemling and Spark in first league. Stopped playing 0.2 very quickly. Majority of players apparently prefers to be OP and very fast. Me included.

" Just some static 50% less damage or even more probably won't help alone. Some things are more in line with the original vision — some things are just not at all. " Same as above. Also buffing the defenses too much will just make it a stickfight. Nobody wants to stand there and hit some mobs for 10-20s, then move on to the next one. Get out insane scalings, slow stuff down, make it interesting to interact with. Increase the loot, so player still feel they get their time's worth out of playing. I think this post gave some good ideas on how to (maybe) fix that problem — if they even want to go in line with their vision, and not the PoE1 zoom-zoom endgame, which I still hope they do. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3855808 But they got to decide which road to go down — as both won't make anyone happy with the whole game. " Look, I really don't want to continue with this because you are starting to dig down and its becoming clear you have a singular vision. 1) You made the comment "What does players liking content have to do...": That is what sparked my response. Everything you have discussed in this thread and continue to discuss is Player preference. It's why they are playing THIS game over, say, DOTA. 2) No Rest For The Wicked: granted, I don't have a lot of experience, but again you are comparing apples to oranges: a game closer to Dark Souls than PoE. Just like in the first few pages. 3) YES you are right: GGG has made their desires for "meaingful combat" known. My point about this being a loot-based game, with HEAVY farming required, precludes it from ever having both meaningful combat AND the same farming requirements. If they want meaningful combat, they would need to completely rework how loot drops and dash expectations of their audience. Unfortunately for them, they have only 1 other game to their name (PoE 1) and so people come to PoE 2 with certain ingrained expectations of what the game SHOULD be. AGain.....why they choose THIS game over playing another ARPG or RPG. And when I say or allude to it being IMPOSSIBLE to create meaningful combat in the mob-to-mob action, I truly mean it is IMPOSSIBLE within the constructs of what PoE 1 and PoE 2 are. Just like how introducing super loot to a game like Dark Souls would be impossible. I'll come back to saying Blight is a poor example to your point, even from a speed perspective because WITHIN blight you still need ridiculous speed to actually win it. It heavily favors mobility, high damage, and as much clear as possible. But the fact that it also has a hard-capped timer on it is what makes it less popular. And yes....I'll say it again....as a veteran and current PoE 1 player who digests MANY streamer videos and lots of threads on this forum....Blight is NOT a popular mechanic compared to most others. It receives the vast majority of its popularity by its rewards, NOT by its play. Starting anew....with PoE 2 Zuletzt bearbeitet von cowmoo275#3095 um 18.09.2025, 11:43:01

" Is it going fast that they like? Or is it more of the feeling you get when you hear the divine-sound, and going fast is just the best means of getting most of those? |

" Wasn't the whole point of making PoE2 the realization of GGG that their changes don't work in PoE1? Then what's the point of making a different game, just to go back on their vision and make it PoE1 again? PoE1 is still getting updates, rn PoE2 is more like a worse version with some cool features and novelty. PoE1 does what it tries to do almost perfectly, while PoE2 doesn't even know what it tries to do… And just because nobody has successfully put loot and mob-to-mob action into a game doesn't have to mean it's impossible — just that it's at least hard to get right. And if someone can do it, it's GGG. |

" Luckily for you, there are multiple ARPGs still being updated RIGHT NOW that satisfy what you want! Go play them. " It'd be a start, but entire archetypes should simply NOT exist in POE2. Example: minions. Minions have no place in this game, unless they are entities that can never be body block/take hits for you. I can stand still with an army of minions and they will clear multiple screens without me pressing a single button. That cannot exist. Also, honestly, white mobs shouldn't exist in their current form (have less of them but make each one 5x as strong), and champions (blues) need to be massively buffed. Like 3-5x the HP they currently have. Zuletzt bearbeitet von ShiyoKozuki#4168 um 18.09.2025, 12:12:34

" As I said above, this thread has some good ideas as for how to do it. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3855808 AS for minions, maybe they can exist as some kind of “add-on” to builds instead of standalone builds. Just make monsters be dangerous with minions, and force minion player to attack as well — or the damage is just not quite there. Also, they could put in “counters” like monsters that endanger minion builds more than other ones (Monster skills when they kill a minion for example, make it mandatory to position your minions cause of some kind of monster that gets stronger as long as it hits something…) But yea — specters would probably have to go. Or you just make them weaker — which probably wont satisfy people playing minions tho. Zuletzt bearbeitet von KäsePizza#3007 um 18.09.2025, 12:27:17

" Good, if we can agree on that, that's all I needed. That is all I care about and what this thread is about, anything beyond that is irrelevant to the thread or to me. If you have a different opinion from mine or cool stuff to add on how good and engaging combat can be achieved, fantastic! If not, don't bother. You won't change my mind, and obviously neither will I change yours. "Sigh" Zuletzt bearbeitet von IonSugeRau1#1069 um 18.09.2025, 12:36:34
