What happened to Engaging Combat? Video Feedback.




Everything POE2 was supposed to be , with slower more mechanical combat got thrown out of the window with 0.3.


Its just very sad that POE2 got stripped down to POE 1 with better graphics.
Streamers happened. They just want to make money posting "UBER ONESHOT FULL SCREEN t3000 ARBITER" so they cry if that doesnt happen. (Look at Ruetwo reaction when his pathfinder is not brainded screenclear)

After that bunch of sheep come to forums/reddit and spew that nonsence and behold - lightning spear gets buffed at the start of 0.2.

I wouldnt mind if the game would have a similar gameplay as POE1. The devs should decide tho what they wanna do with the game. Some skilsl/systems they make dont really work

I'm not talking about you man, I said apart from OP. Jesus. But you have picked up their habit of ignoring everything someone said to deliver a slam dunk that's air because it doesn't even support your statement or address the core issues of the discussion.

I am talking about the names that I see all the time, in all of the negative threads, making 0 sense, posting fluff in answer to absolutely evertyhing, to stoke the fire, to poison the well, because they are unhappy about poe2 existing in the first place. Look at this MadSheo, look at this Nikusis person, look at AintCare (the highest # posters apart from OP). These people are not agreeing with you, they are just angry people who want any problems to be highlighted so that they can be mad at PoE2 existing. They want you to sit here and be mad that the game isn't good enough. It is sad, but it's what they do.

If your feedback is just an unhappy, unspecific sentiment that anyone can agree with to feed and fuel, then it's just fuel for the people who want others unhappy, or to keep you unhappy, or to stay unhappy themselves. It is just a sour sentiment. When it is specific feedback, it sparks a discussion that is healthy for the game, or just clearly shows issues with the experience.

Even the people who actually agree with you, have wildly different expectations for the changes that would happen. It's crazy man. I have sat here, telling the people the problems, asking them to give more specific feedback, and saying that making a general statement does not equal giving feedback.

Yes, everyone wants the game to be well-paced. What does that look like for everyone, exactly? Who knows!

Just "again, less monsters". This is legitimately what happened with PoE2. They did it "again" trying to make it more intentionally paced, and at a point it doesn't work magically.

You need to give specific examples on how it broke, when, the realistic changes. Or it is just a sour sentiment, that anyone can agree with, anyone can cling onto, there is not anything specific to not agree with. It is easy to agree that the "game should have good combat" it is harder to agree on what that is. If you simply leave it up to the devs to interpret what you mean, then you will just end up with another version of the game you are unhappy with.

How many times do I have to say the same thing?

How do i say that .,.... 500k people started and fell right down to 9k
99% of players stopped playing.

They took the lame out of the game and 250K came back and 100k stayed.

from 99% loss rate
to 50% retention

adding 10x the retained players.

Yeah sure go invent the game you want.
Call it Isometric Sloggfest ... the walking simulator.
You know what tactics or grittiness you are talking about...

Should i run Counter Clockwise ?
.. the tactical dilemma

Cause in the game being advocated for , it's a Hit point sponge marry-go-round.
Sing the circus song and spin around that sponge for 10 minutes.....

snooze fest is when i use one attack and dispatch 30+ monsters before they even end their attack animations, sometimes i don't even see them render on my screen because devs put shit like 'prolif' into the game. all of this is build into skills like heralds.
wtf is the point of all the abyss mobs? they drop no loot, they do shit all, they have to die before they get to me. all i see is the arch nem mobs at which point the real combat starts- issue is there are 2-3 of those per map and they are far from ideal in terms of combat.

you get these skills as soon as act2 for vast majority of charas, which completely negates any 'end-game' type argument.

Yeah, the zoom zoom blow up screen game play is actually EXTREMELY niche.

This means you're advocating for POE2 to be an anime horse-girl waifu mobile gacha.
