In concept, I don't hate XP loss on death. Death should be punishing. My preference would be for more avenues being made available (with comparable investment) to mitigate the loss. One idea I've been kicking around is that completely clearing a map (0 Monsters remain) should award a temporary buff similar to an Omen of Amerlioration. Those that want to go slow 'n steady will primarily benefit and it won't affect the the higher-risk/higher reward players that want to zoom-zoom through maps.

Like the title says, I have no interest in .3. Does anyone else feel the same way? I'm not even looking forward to reading the .3 update notes, which I know will be worse than .2's notes. People are started to hype-up .3, and as much as I try, I just can't get excited for .3.
I'm also not looking forward to the so-called "uncompensated" social media influencers posting vids about .3 to hype it up (DM, ehem, ehem). Today I watched the Youtube videos that GGG released to tease the teaser to the teaser trailers for .3, and I didn't even finish watching the entire videos because I was so uninterested. I clicked off in about 10 seconds.
I already know GGG won't have fixed any of the major problems in the game - let alone any of the minor problems - when .3 drops. We're maybe getting a few new things that'll make the game fun for MAYBE a month if we're lucky, but then all of the same fundamental problems will still exist in the game. Hey plebs, here's Act 4 and a few trash uniques - now spend your hard-earned money on microtransactions.
I remember when my hype for .2 was through the roof before it dropped, and then afterwards I found out that .2 was a steaming pile of shite. Now my hype for .3 is almost nonexistent because of how hard we were duped by .2 expectations versus what we actually got. Am I crazy or does anyone else feel the same? How many people are genuinely excited for .3 and naively think any of the major problems with the game will be fixed?
Server problems, lag spikes, no auction house, lack of character customization, lack of crafting, boring endgame, terrible tower system, terrible skill trees, terrible skill/support gem system, GGG nerfing fun builds mid-season (Bloodmage Spark CotS), boring repetitive campaign, etc. - How many people honestly think GGG is going to fix any of these problems for .3??? I don't.
By the way, why tf is the game missing so much content? How many years has POE2 been in development, and why is this is all of the content that exists? Wtf were the devs doing for years? Why is this taking so long? We were told that this game should be ready to release by the end of 2025, which is almost 3 months away, and right now it's nowhere near a full game. There's no way the full game will be releasable any time soon. I'd say we'd be lucky to have the full game release by the end of 2026.
We're constantly being told by GGG leadership that the dev teams and management teams are so passionate and so talented and all they do is play/develop/eat-sleep-breathe POE 2, but yet the results show the exact opposite. Enough with all the BS excuses, just make the game finally good and FUN. It's not that hard - POE1 has existed for many years.
I want to love this game but I sadly have no interest in it anymore. GGG, please give us something to be excited for. For the love of everything good, please make .3 a really good update because if not then your game is dead and players won't come back. GGG, I really hope you have been cooking because I've lost faith.
u can always wait for the full release
we joined to play the EARLY RELEASE of the game and we payed for it knowing its early access game.
basically... we are here to whine critic and watch the progress of the game developing on the go .

Culminating 1800 hours since its launch in dec, 2024.I also did a leveling of my characters at level 96. During this early access gaming "experience", the XP lost experience stands out awkwardly.
I am convinced of one thing : XP lost on death , especialy on a standard league, has nothing to do with an actual way of creating engament and long time interest. It is all the contrary.
Real demanding and challenging experience require real investiment on each side (smart game design mechanics and greedy, curious gamers and passionating by these mechanics discoveries).
Practicing XP lost as game play mechanics is just a true avowal of gameplay conception weakness. It slains all the endgame experience.
GGG, I give you a shout : Stop to overemphasize XP lost punishment at the expense of smart gameplay mechanics.
A real challenging and demanding endgame, without hiding behind retaliations and punishment as main mechanics inselves.
This is a better involving experience because one thing for sure, a failure itself is sufficient, no need more.
EXP loss is great, you shouldn't be spam dying.

You're correct. The problem is the game may not make it to full release if only a few thousand people are playing it in a few months. Tencent may see this as a massive failure and scrap the whole game. The success of POE2's business model depends on people purchasing EA and then purchasing microtransactions while playing. The problem is if nobody is playing the game because its not fun then nobody is purchasing micros and revenue isn't being generated, which is a giant problem for both GGG and Tencent. And btw when EA is over I thought they said POE2 will be free to play, the full game I mean. If they have a disastrous year of EA then who tf is going to play the full release and buy stuff in game. And btw, there's no way the full game is releasing this year, so realistically we're talking about maybe mid to late 2026 before POE2 is fully up and running and generating significant revenue besides the EA purchases.

just wait for it then see i'd say.
everyone predicting a total disaster on a game thats missing more than half of the content it will offer on full release.
have a look at poe steam chart and notice how similar both games are in early access.
Pretty sure, in poe, when the player base was down everyone was exactly like now, game is dying, game is dead, they make no money n stuff.
Game is still there up n running so just wait and be curious instead of discussing numbers we dont even have access to.

True. Very sane, rational response, IILU81II. You're right. Thanks.

Hey ShiyoKozuki, so when players spend tens or even a hundred+ of hours progressing a toon to level 90/95+ in a "league" and then GGG changes the socketable support gems without putting it in the patchnotes and without a heads-up, that's cool with you? You seem pretty upset about my post.
Should we all just be mind-readers like yourself and somehow psychically know what GGG is 100% going to nerf mid-season so that our builds aren't destroyed? Btw they said no mid-season nerfs to toons in EA... so they lied about that. I can think of like 5 things they should have nerfed already but didn't, and I can think of probably 10+ things they should have already buffed months ago but won't even in .3.
Tell me, should we all just play LS like GGG clearly wanted in .2 because to me that's not fun. I and many other players like experimenting with off-meta builds, and it's not fun to spend tens of hours building a toon and then having GGG be like oops sorry oh well better pick better next season, so sad. Meanwhile every party you play in your teammates are destroying the entire screen in one spear throw. Garbage design

is this for me? just asking.
about LS thing, thats what most people CHOOSED to play, there many other builds that smash endgame and are funnier to play.
whats the socketable nerf you talking about? i didnt notice in my builds, again just asking.

No, not for you. I agree with you. They nerfed Choir of the Storm mid-league and didn't even put it in the patch notes that they changed the socketable support gems. I was planning to play my Bloodmage until end of season but after the stealth nerf I was so disgusted and bored with the game that I didn't even play rest of .2, and I had multiple 90+ toons. Hit 97 on Lich and was so bored I started experimenting with other builds but got bored with them all.
