Have no interest in starting over in new league

"
Today I heard that the new content will only be available initially within the league?

I didnt think I would stop playing this game but I have no interest in starting over after now creating 15 characters and leveling them to 90+.

I do not find the idea of starting over interesting in any way whatsoever. How in the world did anyone come to the conclusion that in an RPG based on progression, starting all over would be somehow appealing?

Now I will have to wait 4 months longer after the new league launches to experience the new content?

You guys are really dissapointing me with this. Along with the xp loss on death my interest in this game is rapidly declining now and I'm surprised really. I had faith in this company.

I dont have any opinion on the subject, just to be sure that you know: When game will be full release and leave early access, the actual regular league will become the early access league as i understood and wont get anymore updates. So you will anyway "loose" thoose charactere you've done. (loose as in, you still can play them in the early access league but in the state the game was when leaving early access)

If i was you i wouldnt focus too much on keeping them at all cost.

Why not let the Standard players also try something new, in Standard?

Because everyone will try something new on standard with all the currencies n stuff, and literally everyone.

This will make the league system completely pointless.

Not at all. This line of thinking is reversible as well: why have Standard at all if its never allowed to play with current content releases? Those who want to play new content in a F R E S H environment can do so in the new league. Those who want to play new content with their current characters should be permitted the same luxury.

Well if you ask me i would completely remove standard tbh, but it was made to let players enjoy old characters in the old economy so they could complete contents.(upgrades, reach 100, all content for those who didnt during the league).

Now if you let players enjoy old characters with old economy with the new league's content, how many would play the fresh new start of a new league?
How the market will be considering most players are in the standard league with the same content?

Also as someone stated above, all early access characters will be transferred to the early access league (0 updates) when 1.0 will come out so sooner or later you'll have to say goodbye to your toons anyway.
There's a reason why they call them seasonal games.

Who cares? Giving players more options is preferrable. Those that want the F R E S H can have it. There's no need to compel players into starting over.

Again, source? Where have they stated EA realms get 0 updates?

Don't have the time to find the source atm. I feel like in one of the announcement posts maybe.
But I can also confirm they've said all current characters will go into an EA league when 1.0 releases, and a fresh permanent standard league will start then for all new characters going forward.

EA "museum" league will get updates the same way Stabdard does: 1. Expansion (like new classes) will be available in standard immediately. 2. Leagues (the wisps in this case) won't be available in EA or Standard until after the league ends, and only the parts that stay in the game permanently will reach EA/ standard leagues. During EA they've done this differently and leagues are available to standard characters immediately so far, but that's expected to change at release AFAIK.

All that aside, I absolutely love fresh leagues with fresh economies and that's the only reason I ever played these game past 20 hours. They should never change it. Especially considering it's kind of THE thing that made the first game so successful. There's a talk they have about it years ago about why consistent leagues are so good for them as a live service game. If everything was available in standard immediately, the player count during a league would drop so much faster that I'd be pretty surprised if it was a sustainable business model. Imagine post release you got a league and the entire league was just wisps but it went to standard immediately, you hop onto you standard character, run 20 maps or so, then pretty much have experienced everything the league has to offer and leave. Imo the reality is that the fresh economy restart, along with the predictable spike of concurrent players at league start is what makes it so fun and engaging. There's a ton of other games I own that have somewhat regular content updates, but i don't go back to them every patch like i do this game.

Who cares?? what an answer...those who start a new fresh league will have no market, no trade because everyone will play the standard league with new mechanics.

Also Early Acces FAQ https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3587981/page/1

It's abit unclear but you can read all early acces charachter wont be in standard league.

TLDR: "Will there be wipes during Early Access?
No, there will not be a wipe. We will do new leagues but none of your characters will be wiped, they will just go to a league called Early Access (so they will never be in Standard). In some cases characters in old leagues might be somewhat broken by balance changes though. After launch the "Early Access" characters will still exist."
