Have no interest in starting over in new league
I didn't say anything like that in my post but I'd like to respond anyways. What if that person just said "stop bringing bad things to POE2"? What if they didn't mention POE1?
You seem to be pretty stuck on the idea that, if someone doesn't have enough badges under their forum name, their opinion doesn't matter. Please explain how allowing standard servers to experience new content degrades your playing experience? I have seen people say that it's because less people will play on the league server. I disagree with that. Look at DOTH league. Standard server currently has access to all of the content in DOTH league and it didn't rob all of the playerbase. 1. It doesn't rob your playerbase (as proven by .2) 2. You still get all of the new content 3. You get an economy reset How does this affect you exactly? 97 Blood Mage, 96 Gemling, 95 Deadeye, 93 Invoker, 92 Amazon, 92 Stormweaver, 91 Smith of Kitava

" " There are very good reasons for it, whether you choose to accept them or not, and whether you agree with them or not, they still exist. Just give a fresh start with the community a go mate. It's fun. |

Oh. I will most likely roll the new class on the new league server and play it to endgame. Then, I will go back to standard where I have 7 other 90+ characters and I can experiment with new builds without having to level up XX number of new characters.
Quite honestly, if there were no issues with the economy, I don't think there would there be a need for resets and multiple leagues at all. One big league that everyone plays in allows the more casual players to build up a character enough to experience pinnacles etc. A lot of them don't have the time, gear or possibly skill to complete these things in 4 months. I, obviously, do not fall into that category But, a business looking to expand it's user base should realize that the current system pulls the rug out from a lot of players that don't want to start over every 4 months. Edit: As a side note, it's new content that brings players back. Not the fact that it's new content + a complete start over. If GGG dropped new content every 4 months without the wipe, the same players would return to experience the new content. 97 Blood Mage, 96 Gemling, 95 Deadeye, 93 Invoker, 92 Amazon, 92 Stormweaver, 91 Smith of Kitava Zuletzt bearbeitet von The_Gadget#2563 um 29.07.2025, 16:25:16

" See you on Aug 29th then. I disagree, the thing is, almost every new player to the ARPG scene will be trepidatious about joining a fresh league. For people who are not used to it, resetting is negative progress and illogical. But, if they just tried it, then they would understand. It isn't negative progress, because early on things are much cheaper and easier to obtain. It feels good for characters to have their own identity and journey. Starting fresh with the community while the game is surrounded by hype is the most fun way to play. They just have to get into it. Which, they won't if their only reasons are a fresh economy/ challenge leaderboards that outpace them anyway. It is a necessary pipeline in my opinion. Everyone will always care about the new content if they like the game, and they won't want to wait 4 months to experience it, so they'll end up joining in the main cycle. Or coming here to complain, and then hopefully people will tell them what I am and encourage them to join. If they didn't do resets, trade would simply die. Nobody new or returning would be able to participate in the economy. With league resets, you are never too far behind to get back into it, you just join in on the next start. It also keeps our casual and challenge playerbase together playing the same game, which is another pipeline that should be preserved for the sake of the game's health and our enjoyment. The exclusivity is not only a draw for new players to join in the main cycle, it is also the main reason for people returning to be excited. If all of that is spoiled by characters already in the lategame in standard reaching the pinnacle content first, then the hype of playing the league is just robbed from veterans and racers. Who are basically all the same people who make the content as well, so the entire community sentiment is diminished. Zuletzt bearbeitet von AverBeg7#1689 um 29.07.2025, 16:49:03

" Well, fair enough , but this is part of the issue, GGG’s current approach of merging league content into standard too has blurred the line between the two modes. The result? Some players now treat league as optional or even unnecessary because they know the content will eventually show up in standard anyway. That used to be a major reason why people jumped into leagues. To experience something new first and earn rewards in a fresh economy. But now, especially with how fast content is rolled over, some players skip leagues entirely and just wait. That kind of mindset weakens the whole point of the league system, especially if we’re talking about testing and feedback. And on the topic of forum badges: it's not about gatekeeping opinions, but about credibility. If someone’s making sweeping claims about what PoE1 did wrong or how PoE2 should evolve. But hasn’t actually engaged with either game's core systems, league mechanics, or challenges—then yeah, it's fair to question how grounded that opinion is. Challenges are one way (not the only way) to show a player has spent time playing instead of just speculating. Used to think PoE 2 was “not just PoE 1 with better graphics.”
But that illusion shattered after the 0.2.1 patch. It ruined the feel, the loot, the flow, everything. Make it good again, GGG. |

I didn't read all the replies but my point on this is that, seasonal gaming makes sense whilst the game is being developed. Because every season comes with a pack of new things. So until the game is officially finished, they release a part of the new stuff each season.
That makes sense to me. Won't make sense once the game is finished, then it would be rather an extension with even more content and that would be every 2 years or something. Why am I not excited as well by the new league? Because Dawn of the hunt was A DISATER. in all aspects. Campaign, balance, amazon really boring, mov speed still super slow...Overall super damn boring. GGG confused being challenging with being slow and boring. It's not an open world, it's an ARPG. And even in an Open world you have mounts and you can discover a vast place with swiftness. The movement speed is way too slow. + Massive server and lag issues that lasted for months. They had a good game and instead of improving it with cool new content, more build diversity, they butchered it and tried to fix somehow later on, but the damage was too much. Though we can argue that there is a bit more build diversity now. I'm simply afraid of a status quo or worse, making the game less and less good the longer it goes. I hope for a good surprise. But if campaign stays this slow and boring... Standard it is and frankly quitting or at least taking a real break. Volfa - level 100 Zuletzt bearbeitet von hypochrist#0488 um 31.07.2025, 11:42:10
