Beware Astramentis Stellar Amulet scammers - Its GGGs fault i think

I have been playing the game for 250 hours but I still got scammed today. Because when I search for "Astramentis Stellar Amulet" on the trade site, unidentified versions also appear. On the site, it is not possible to distinguish Strugglescream from the item shapes as the same. I made this mistake and spent all my divine orbs that I barely saved to buy the unidentified version. But when I identified it, it became Strugglescream.

Why does the unidentified version of Strugglescream also appear when I search for "Astramentis Stellar Amulet" specifically? Why does the trade site list the wrong item for me?
And some people take advantage of this. Because the seller knows that "Strugglescream" only drops from Simulacrum. I got tired of the game because of this ridiculous thing.

I don't see a single unid Astramentis when I search it on the trade site this morning. There is a filter to set for only identified items under Miscellaneous... Sorry for your luck :(
Bartender, your finest ale please.

This is completely false. If you search specifically for Astramentis, it will NOT show Strugglescream. You messaged for the correct item, but the person you messaged just traded you the wrong item on purpose. I'm sorry this happened to you but it's partly your fault for not doing the due-diligence of double-checking that you're receiving the correct item.

There are lots of malicious people out there trying to scam in this game. Let this be a (valuable) learned lesson and hopefully it's the last time it happens to you.

If the game has 2 unique amulets with the same art, then the devs can do something about it. How can you tell an unidentified Astramentis and an unidentified Strugglescream apart in that case?

It's a common scam tho in games that have the ability to trade unidentified items and use the same art for multiple items.

You’re not even engaging with what’s being said—you’re just here to be condescending for no reason. The guy clearly explained the issue: the trade site displays an entirely different item under a specific search query, leading to misleading purchases. That’s a design flaw, not ‘player fault.’

But instead of acknowledging the actual problem, you default to the tired ‘blame the player’ routine and blindly defend the game like it’s your personal mission. Why? Nobody’s attacking GGG, they’re pointing out a legitimate issue. If the search function were properly filtering results, this scam wouldn’t even be possible.

Maybe next time, try reading before rushing in to mock people. Otherwise, you’re just proving that you don’t actually care about the discussion—you just want to talk down to others for the sake of it. But hey, if that’s all you got, carry on looking foolish.

WDYM? If you search for "Astramentis" (unidentified you tried to buy) there is not a single "Strugglescream" in that search.

Here is the search to prove it:

https://www.pathofexile.com/trade2/search/poe2/Standard/By0yykQu8

Furthermore, the "unidentified" amulets don't look similar in any way besides being round.

What actually happened is: You wanted to buy an "Astramentis" whispered a guy, he put in an "Strugglescream" instead and you accepted the trade. Is the scammer still scum? Yes.
Is this a thing you can blame on GGG? No.

GGG needs a lemon law, or people can't understand how to use the trade window.

it's like in d2 when people toss objects on the ground and cry when people steal it
With big trades especially you have to do your due diligence. GGG can not prevent scams like this one. You have to verify that you are getting what you are paying for.
