What is the point of the instant death waterbubbles in drowned city?

I ran straight into my first one cause I wanted to see what happens. I laughed, rez'd up, and continued playing.
I agrre with the poster. I died now with this orb. One shot. I fight with 20+ mobs and this orb slowed down me and in one sec bum. I died. I play so many hours and i think im exploited. I do easly bosses but i didnt expect that something like this could kill me instantly, lol

GGG should inform us before the start area about potential one shot threat.

I know you can watch the video fight with bosses and i do, but i didnt expect this on normal mobs lol

died level 81 to this stupid mechanic, had already cleared the corridor i was running back through (not standing still, running)
out of nowhere, boom dead.

I do agree with OP whites should never have the 1 shot ability.
was 11k shield 1.5k health 1k mana, with mind over matter.
all res maxed.

died to single white off screen, complete waste of time, would have had more fun if i had went to work....

I don't think this is the worst thing, id prefer a better visual indicator and admit they are annoying but I don't feel they cross the line. Once you know you know. And if you are in HC that's the price you pay for going in with no knowledge. Now you know. That being said I'm pretty sure most players have died to them at least a couple of times. But once you know it's usually pretty easy to dodge

It's a simple dodge mechanic....just step out.


He didn't know to step out.. He needed to die in HC and waste a couple hours to find that out. Imagine he dodged out just in case, he still wouldn't know, he would just suspect that this is lethal. In this case he would be correct, but what about other cases? That's why this shouldn't be in the game.

If I played HC myself, I would watch every location on youtube beforehand, just to avoid such bad design.


and here in lies the very problem.

im pretty sure everybody plays these games because they want to have fun.

not to watch youtube before or get 100 characters killed to find out all of the hidden game over tags before being able to actually do ok..

anyway outside these things the game is pretty amazing!
I agree with OP. All you guys saying "well yu just dodge". Your probably playing ranger. Or something. Titans are used to taking hits, and its no question this is stupid and bad design.
would not even make into the top 10 of the mob i hate the most :D (i did die to them during campain tho before ifigure what happened then it's super easy to avoid)

What in the world are you talking about? I'm a warrior on endgame right now, YES I died to the damn bubble, but never again, avoid - kill the caster - problem solved jeeez , seriously people ?

Can we just take a minute here to look at this rationally.

OP is skilled enough in this game to get to mid zone 3 on hardcore. Without getting killed even once, so they know what they are doing.
They are 100% entitled to feel outraged that a mechanic that requires you to die to know how to avoid it in the future is bad design.

I doubt there are many in the GIT GUD camp that can say they got to the same point in the game with no deaths. I'd say they've done well to get that far.

Please have a little respect and discuss the mechanics and not try to defend poor game design choices which takes the fun out of the game
