Holy shit! With each patch PoE is lagging worse and worse?

3. Stop watching netflix/youtube/whatnot on a secondary monitor. Watching video turns my game into a spiky laggy mess.

Then you don't have enough RAM to buffer the video + have the advertising running (flash is crap) and keep the RAM usage of the browser itself in check.

Nah RAM is fine, Im just at 100% GPU usage, and handling video pushes it over the limit.

Thanks for the specs on your gaming rig hardware. Looks like I'll need to upgrade soon if I want to continue playing PoE.

I just ran a map and had 3 syndicate encounters. One was an incursion for which I was doing well at the start but after 15 to 20 secs the framerate went down so much that I ended up lag dieing. I'm just seeing such a major increase in amount of lag in large mob packs over just Betrayal League which wasn't lagging much at all.

I hate GGG for not being straight up honest with us and directly addressing this problem head on. Even if GGG has to admit that due to code changes client PoE is doing much more data processing so players with older CPUs may experience performance issues (severe framerate drops) and that we will need to plan on upgrading to a faster cpu.

I switched to Windowed mode so I can see the Task Manager cpu and memory utilization while running an Atoll map.

Just portal-ed back to my hideout and that is some heavy cpu usage going on. My 4C/8T i7 is getting slammed hard at over 70% loads across 8 cpu threads in the map. Hyperthreading may be causing more harm than good so I'll turn it off and see what PoE does with just 4 cores.

Wow this ram usage... But it's the same for me although this game "supposedly" shouldn't be eating this much memory. I have to restart the game often or it start to stutter and jitter and kinda lag more after 7gb memory. But this is what might be causing that lag for you.

I've read somewhere on reddit that you need windows 11 (or 8+) with dx11.1 to stabilize/optimize memory, not sure how true it is though. But if it is, then win 7 guys are kinda fu****, well you know what I mean, shame. And honestly, I'm getting tired. How much more sh*t does this game needs? Quite demanding. And YES, with every expansion it becomes WORSE.
New mute system is terrible - no trade...

To all posts after my spec posts, if you visit tech support forums, and search, you would find me making at least 4-5 threads during which I have tried everything.

Both steam and standalone, both noasync and waitforpreload on and off, both lowest and minecraft settings, and even highest settings, it made no difference.

Basically, over the years I tried everything and every advice I could find either on reddit or forums, nothing worked. Its a thing with their engine and how it interacts probably with specific pc compositions.

Now I have a new pc and all settings max to the boot and its smooth sailing and only thing that fixed my issues.

Its a sad fact that only new pc can remedy bad engine.

Yea, I've also tried a lot of stuff over the years but for a fact their updates made the performance worse. And I can't even fathom whether half of us is gonna be able to run this game at all with time.

New PC's might not see the problem, they are too "Strong" , but it doesn't mean that the problem isn't there. It's like having a wound and applying a bandage... It is there, you just don't see it :|

Well if your on win7, yes, your boned! And you have been for quite some years already.

About 9 months left until it goes totaly unsupported from Microsoft.

I've been running PoE on Windows 7 for years now, no problems at all. I got i7 8 core GTX 960, 8 GB RAM and an SSD.
“We are the race of flesh, We are the race of lovers.”
It wants over 8GB now or it starts swapping to VM slowing you down.

I tested with 8 and 16gb world of difference. (accidentally caused a water leak swapping so I hope you appreciate it)

can confirm lag.

sometimes instances on the amsterdam gateway get very laggy/spiking, after resetting said instance the lag magically dissapears

people who blaim it on the computer have no idea what they're talking about. i doubt they tested every single gateway

THIS! And to add to it: change the server and the spikes are gone (for a while), while relogging to the same server didn't fix anything for me.

It's clearly a server thing and came after the last patch with the optimizations for betrayal. Game runs for a while without probs and then its constant lag. Had a complete freeze on a boss party yesterday. Changed server and the encounter ran withour any lag. That's obviously no PC performance issue.

I i switched to the standalone client a few weeks back and was surprised how smooth it ran, compared to the steam version (which I had to run in preemtive mode - on a dsl 50 line). Now the standalone client runs worse than the steam one. :(

plz fix ggg
Still lagging every evening
