Eh, i wouldnt say a sports community is really comparable. (though also not sure if sarcasm or not because in-team communities are generally super positive, cool, polite. Its usually when its team vs team when the community goes at each others throats, which isnt surprising because sports are inherently divisive).

From Ohio btw, Buckeyes fans are nuts (i also have little to no interest in sports unless im playing them myself, watching them isnt fun for me).

Personally glad Ziggy has the time to pursue other topics (his magic the gathering coverage has been very well done and hes looked like he actually enjoyed producing the content) while still being as passionate about PoE as before.

Sad to see the podcast go since it was one of the few ways outside of reddit we were able to actually hear what the devs intended vs just assuming and placing our own constraints on it.

There's a reason people appear to be polite (smart, no. Polite, yes) at sporting events.

It's because they're actually there, in person, face to face. If they go toxic rage on some guy a few seats away for whatever reason - they might just get their ass kicked. Get kicked out of the stadium. Get their car smashed up by angry whomever. Even perhaps get arrested. Because they can't hide behind an internet name.

Anonymity breeds assholes because it shields them from the risk of physical confrontation from those they're being toxic to. In these forums, or any forums.

Yes, the fact that the devs are ignoring their own game forums in favor of reddit is very bad. Their focus should be here, on these forums where their players are, rather than the toxic cesspool that is reddit.

I think he just passed the right point to make a reasoned decision that way.
IMO was that point at the 'ty 4 scam-gate'. You can think what you want 'bout that issue,
regarding that followed shitstorm you could see that many people taking PoE issues way to serious and are entiled as fuck. Maybe if some time passed, he will be back, who knows.

In my opinion, PoE is much poorer without guys like PohX and Zeno.

Not worth it in the long run, you can be as nice and as positive as possible, yet still voice great opinions and theyll still shit on you. Youtube comments section is always great evidence of that, yet people wonder why Path of Exile has hardly any content creators.

For example ZiggyD or Hege, both however dont let negative people get to them, theyre well past that but its harder for some people when theyre harassed 24/7 like zeno.

It isnt because the community is small or anything, its simply just not worth the time or effort when the toxicity level is soo high.

Alot of the community have become pseudo elitists as well, if youre not conforming to everything meta, both build, trade, exp wise theyll just shit on you. Its well past a meme now, people legitimately think like this and frankly its disappointing, ive never been more disappointed in how a community acts than here.

ya this is the thing, ppl come in his twitch chat, say obnoxious shit, get banned, 2 mins later theyre back with a new account, and again, and again, and then theyre emailing him death threats and signing on to reddit with multiple accounts just to create slander threads... people are devoting dozens of hours in a week to just being utter shits to guys like this. Every time ziggy or zeno does an interview or reveal even on here theres just that vocal minority of professional haters who just cant wait to tell everyone how much they hate them along with pretty much every person of note in the community whos trying to do anything positive for the game.

Its just a vile self defense mechanism, its pathetic to see in action. And yeah, Im hating on those guys, "oh snork ur hating on hatyers that makes u a hater hurrr durrr" Im hating on negative horrible people who are shitting on good people because they are good people. Am i shitting on good people? No. Ok, glad we could clarify the angle for you.

Speaking of "toxic" community.

I think a big part of the problem is that a lot of people feels entitled (not you this time, Saranghaeyo_) to have their voice heard when it comes to which direction PoE is going. Entitled of "participating" in the development - based on their subjective views. Like their voice means more than others.

There is nothing wrong with constructive criticism or feedback, but when players starts demanding stuff, over and over again, when all of the community knows their views based on thousands of threads, it becomes a problem. Nothing good can come from it. Ever.

None of us have the right to be heard when it comes to the development of the game. We have the right of "feedback" and "suggestion", there's even an own sub section for it on these forums, but what a lot of people are doing these days, looks more like witch hunting.
