Ooh yes that looks very similar to the "Safe" build I made as the first draft of it, then I thought, default mode, lets go all out! LOL This will be expensive with astramentis...

I'm still not convinced Astramentis is the best choice for this build.

If you compare Astramentis to an amulet with the Flaring prefix (15-26 phys damage) you could get something like this (estimations for comparison's sake)

Let's assume we have 1000% IPD from STR and bonuses, and 50% IAS from nodes and DEX. Thanks to added phys damage from gear, the base damage from the staff is:

65.8 - 114.4

With Astramentis it would jump up to 1100% IPD and 60% IAS, for a DPS total of: 1949

With the Flaring amulet we would have 1000% IPD and 50% IAS only, but 76.8 - 130.4 base damage, so 1942.5

As you can see it's pretty much the same DPS, but the Flaring amulet may have other bonuses too. I don't know, they look similarly viable to me.

Very much looking forward to finding out who designed the Monkey staff!

Anyone know how many uniques are there in D2 and how many legendaries in D3?

I think we already got more uniques than there are legendaries in D3. Pure awesomeness!

There are I believe just about 240 different legendaries in Diablo 3, but I like how uniques here are not just good items, but items to build entire characters around. The new staff is a perfect sample of that.
