A fun boss to fight without one shots
In an action RPG, gear matters - and should matter. That's why bosses need to have elements of "dodgable" mechanics and so-called "gear check". The "best" gear should let you trivialize a lot of the content, if you build right. A lot, not all. But the game should also reward skills. That's why a bossfight needs some mechanical elements too. But they shouldn't be "everything". If a bossfight is designed in a way that let's you run it naked if you know the mechanics well, it's a bad fight. You have gear. You have skills. You have flasks. A high-end, end-game fight should force you to utilize all of those elements.
It's a tough balance. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you. Zuletzt bearbeitet von Phrazz#3529 um 09.11.2018, 12:28:18
