Orbs Bound to Account - medicine for broken economy
" I was referring especially to exalts. I think mirrors need to be extremely rare. That post was bounded to my previous post: you are right that crafted bases are insanely hard to make. And exalts are hard to find. This is because you are forced to play with other people: there is communication between people, where borns a market; so every RNG has to be based on the fact that you are playing near other thousand people, who has the same chance to get something very good. The more people play, the more rarer the good things become: otherwise they are worthless. That's why some t1 mods are insanely hard to get (merciless anyone?) That is why i said i would be very excited to see an offline game: im sure we would see more balance in every aspect of RNG, starting from drop which can really make you get sometimes a good craftbase that is worth an ex, but also making you more willing to spend alts/chaos/regal in order to create a good craftbase. |

They will not do an offline mode until the coffers are empty and the player base is dead.
As for balance? I don't hold confidence that this would be the impetus for such a change, because they have had so many opportunities to get it right so far and still come up short, and largely for the reason I discussed earlier; RNG over RNG over RNG. Tired of trolls? Ignore them.

I'm not pushing for it. I was just thinking how could it would be, simply.
I know very well that GGG has no reason to do this. They would just lose money. I don't think there is any space for serious crafting right now, nor in the near future. Only people with 80+ex can afford to use them trying to craft something very precious. The other ones are going to invest them on the market, because it is a lot safer. Tying trading to crafting was GGGs biggest mistake. I was lured to POE with the crafting options but was hit hard with reality of not being able to craft anything at will above Magic tier. Exalts and above are too rare to let casual players craft anything they would use.

I didn't read the thread, just the OP post.
You did always never trade items against items in Diablo 2. Low-value items were paid with perfect gems (similiar to alteration orbs), mid-value was paid with duped Ist runes (similiar to chaos orbs) and high-value items were paid with duped high runes (divine to exalted orbs). The other form of trading happend in the d2jsp forums where you paid with forum gold. If the game doesn't offer some form of currency, the players search themselves something to use as currency. Without a liquid currency, trading is very hard and almost doesn't happen because you always have a hard time to find someone for a matching trade. |

" that could be the case in open battlenet but in close battlenet where i only played as it prevent using cheats (excl maphack) almost all trades where made using item(s) for item(s). Of course perfect gems and runs had value too but, one could get almost every item they wanted with trading other items. I never had to use d2jsp, nor i wanted to fall that low to use a 3rd party website to get items. To be honest once u got your mf sorcerer up and running, you could do baalruns and get almost every item imaginable for trading, Heck I used to even do communism games where noobs join and battle 1 on 1 for items and my amusement ;) The thing is, that when u trade item for item, you almost always do an unfair trade, you either loose a bit or gain a bit on each trade, so overall it balance things out. I really depends on the item you want and how bad you want it. YES I support the game, NO I don't agree with many GGG decisions Lab still sucks balls. I miss Zana already. " I also played in close battle net and I remember the form of trading i mentioned above. Either we played in a different patch (1.10 for me) or different forms of trading happily co-existed. " Good point. One should tell GGG that using a 3rd party website is a low standard. Zuletzt bearbeitet von xGeronimo87x#0093 um 15.07.2016, 09:14:58

" Making players trade more effectively via third party sites makes GGG seem unprofessional. IF they want us to trade, they have to provide both, some sort of AH in addition to the trade chat or have no trading at all. Cant have it half ways. |

" I agree but I think from GGG's point of view, it's the same like a user-interface for lootfilters. Lootfilters are a great feature but having no user-interface for it and forcing people to hassle around with text editors is in no way acceptable. But GGG did know the community would develop user interfaces for it so they safed themselves the time. Same with AH, poe.trade and other sites are online and are working and people are trading so why should GGG spend money to develop some on their own? It's a genius move if you see it this way. |

Broken economy? It's going to remain broken as long as the cheaters are around, and they show no signs of being sufficiently quelled. You know how you can fix the economy? Force SSF only AND take out PvP. THAT is about the only thing that will fix the economy since it will give the cheaters nothing to do. As long as they have ways to benefit from cheating, and as long as GGG can't shut them down, problems will, unfortunately, persist. And I despise them. Oh so much... from the days of them crashing Diablo 2 for personal gain to how they affect PoE in the present day, the more things change, the more things stay the same.
People who don't like the Labyrinth are not a minority: Be heard - say you don't like it in your signature. Don't leave complaining about lab to others - GGG needs to see how many people dislike it. Ascendancy must be gated on true ARPG content, not a poorly-crafted internet Legend of Zelda wannabe.
