Orbs Bound to Account - medicine for broken economy

We all know that trade is not an interaction between players, as GGG imagined, its just copy and paste text from poe.trade (1 to 15/20 times - depending on your luck with the sellers) and than typing "ty" or "t4t". Thats it.
Its hardly called interaction but what if that could be changed.

My idea is to make all orbs (aka the currency) bound to account - this way people would be more focused on crafting, which is well build into the game, instead of buying all the items they need.

This would result in item trading. instead of currency now people would value their items differently and would negotiate for different item they want. This would make the economy more alive, as sometimes more trades would have to be made to get the item for someone who has the item you want.

This would open a dialogue between players trading, instead of copy and paste text only.

Even though this is a bit extreme and I guess I will get a lot of hate here, all we have to do is to look at diablo 2 closed battlenet economy (for those who remember it from it hayday) to see that it worked pretty damn well.
YES I support the game, NO I don't agree with many GGG decisions

imho they already test that in the china release:

orbs and items you find until you reach maps get assigned to your account. using account bound currency on items makes them account bound.

excited on how that turns out. implications are huge!

for trading i once imagined something like a request based trading system, you post your item requests in a ingame system together with the price you can afford and people can make item offers.
this idea could also be taken further into a bartering system when item offerers could attach some price tags to their offer.

the disadvantage is, would have the disadvantage of showing real demand for items ...

Getting back to a real barter economy at this point would be impossible. Most of the players would hate it, since GGG established orbs as a form of currency. They even call them currency items and not orbs.

Poe.trade is also officially recognized as the buyout-based, currency-driven trading tool to use in PoE. At this point the playerbase will (un-surprisingly) only demand more and more efficient trading, where you wont heave to deal with the other player at all. No way back to barter & haggling.

I didnt knew they implement such an experiment. To me its a bit extreme, as I think that crafted items should be tradable.

But yeah I wonder how it will turned out, if you got any links for the info on this I would be grateful

@morbo

yeah u got a good point, funny though that GGG said that they want player interaction in trading, but at the same time they going into an D3 AH direction.
Automatization of trading seems like the way to go in POE. I hope they will make a better job then blizzard do (even though I enjoyed the AH - not the RMAH) and will somehow implement a system like that, but in a way it will prevent bot buyouts of items ect.

That's how trading worked in D2 until the introduction of runes, and even then, only the very top end gear was traded for runes as they were super rare. The system was way better than the mess we have right now where 99.9% of uniques are literally free and the rarity of currency isn't even related to its rarity in many cases (divines/regals being cheaper than chaos and such).

Can't do anything about it at this point though.
People would find another form of easily tradeable currency. My guess would be maps.

It was done more then likely to combat the issue of botting, seeing as the realm isn't one that GGG directly has control over (I dont think) its a way to combat it indirectly.

I wouldn't be surprised if that realm has completely different drop rates and a paid shop that sells stuff ours wouldn't as well, its just the market that that game is in.

Remove MF from POE, make juiced map the new MF.
Such a move would kick me into completely self found. Considering I don't like trading much anyway it wouldn't be that big of a deal for me. I trade for currency items almost exclusively, because thats the only way to turn your drops into something useful. I would probably be already completely self found if there were reasonable vendor recipes for the higher currency items.
Would totally ruin the game. Account Bound never works and never will. D3 dies because you cant trade anything.
I'm not sure about currency. But, I think having things account bound is a good idea
