Which GPU/CPU combo are you using?
5800X3D and 7800XT but I find the performance issues are very situational, and are always a CPU bottleneck problem.
Even if I gimp my game to look like a 2005 mobile game the performance hits still occur in the same situations. It leads me to believe that there's some serious bugs that can show up one at a time or all at once, or anywhere in between and lead people to have similar experiences. Specific things that I've noticed cause the performance hits: - Lots of corpses on screen. - Some of the new a4 Karui monsters. As soon as they are on-screen, or relatively close-by, CPU lag's like crazy. I haven't been able to identify the culprits. - Some of the new act 4 zone doodads or buildings. I can't figure out if it's a tree, or fence, or the way they interact with other effects, or whatever, but when it shows up, frames basically drop to 10-30FPS even if there's nothing else going on whatsoever. Just standing still in the area does it. This is much rarer. It also has brief dips in performance while moving, which leads me to think it's some kind of massive physics calculation holding things up. - Grimhaven map has some areas which KILL my fps. Maybe it's related to the "wet" reflections on the walls or something, because it seems to rear it's head when I'm in a "cornery and wet" area. - The un-closed Abyss holes cause problems. I think this is related to the map zone too. I noticed in the Ornate Chambers that the "hole" had a golden hue to match the zone, instead of the usual green. I did not see the performance hit associated with the normal green holes. Sometimes it is more noticeable than others, and it's most noticeable on zones that have lots of foliage, or the hole is on a "hill" like the ones in Willow. - The little red "wormies" that are stuck in the ground but "wiggle" towards the character in corrupted maps. HUGE fps hit just standing in them and nothing else going on. - Shrines - Herald of Ash When any two or more of the above converge, it results in literally less than 1FPS - powerpoint mode, and I know it's a CPU issue because my device is unresponsive to any inputs, can't even pause, or anything at all, and the game is repeating my last "processed" input as if I am holding it down. I usually try to make that the "raise shield" input lol. Zuletzt bearbeitet von karsey#2995 um 17.10.2025, 12:33:33

Ryzen 9 7900x3d with a nvidia RTX 4070 TI Super. Smooth as silk with everything maxxed at 4096x2160 on a LG tv. Running a spark build. Good performance doesnt come cheap.

" Smooth meaning no fps dips? It doesn't go below 60 fps at all even in notorious sections of the map? |

" Thats kinda wild cause I have 4090 with 13900k and 32Gb and still get dips below 40fps. And I dont have everything maxed out. |

" Please don't, people have more expensive setups then you and have bad fps, it's the game, not the hardware. Like others said, game is cpu bound and not optimized, being build on PoE1 also doesn't help at all. Tech guy

Over 10 years of terrible performance, and their solution for PoE2 was to use the same back-end. It's silly.
Doesn't matter what components you use, it is literally a dice roll each patch to see if your setup will work that cycle or not, $500 or $5k really doesn't matter, the forums are a testament to that. (literally how it's always been) |

" I can tell you are not juicing your maps. Even better pc's have a problem in overrun by abyss, high pack size delirium and breach maps. |

CPU - I9 12900k
GPU - RTX 4070 Ti Super RES - 2k Native, no dlss. I play at around 140 fps, dropping to around 50 fps if the map includes an abyss. But I usually average around 90 fps with ULTRA settings. Zuletzt bearbeitet von Moonwalker#5595 um 16.10.2025, 07:28:07

Ryzen 5800x3D
96 GB RAM RTX 4070 2x NVME SSD Shader cache: Unlimited DX12 Resizable Bar: 8GB DLSS4 Balanced + Framegen Usually 120+ fps in fights and in extreme situations 80+. Lowest I had was 60fps, but because of no limit for caching game is getting slowly back to 120+ fps everywhere. |
