You don't compare MMORPG with ARPG, MMORPG don't have the Action part and that alone is the main difference between the 2 genre. Also when being "BIS" you are expected to feel strong and kill stuff quickly even in a slow and methodical ARPG.
WoW was an example game, but no RPG lets you run around 1 shotting the entire game just because you have BiS gear, except for ARPGs.

So here's the difference with POE -- In POE 1, the level of cost to get as powerful as POE 2 is INSANE. IT would take 200d minimum in POE 1 to replicate what a 5d deadeye in POE 2 can do.
In POE 1, we certainly expect when we get BIS items (hundreds of div for ONE item) to be MUCH more powerful. When you do that with every slot, killing everything but uber bosses is normal.
Note POE 1 uber bosses are LONG fights.

what is needed is reducing monster density ~10x times.
Also lowering dps (especially aoe) of most builds (nerfing offensive affixes on weapons/quivers).
Lowering DPS is just going to piss off the players who run timed content like Breach and Delirium that punish you for being too slow.
Unless timed content is removed, there's no chance GGG is going to gut DPS in any meaningful capacity.

they need to seriously address item power in early acts, martial weapons are outrageously OP and current 'crafting' shows it like never before. some quick fixes could be- severely limit item rarity or item mods available in campaign. weapon qual/damage runes - endgame exclusive. and THEN still nerf base weapon damage. the discrepancy between my fire mage or ED witch vs any char that uses martial weapon is absurd. i expect this to be the case across all spell casters vs weapon users. this is why we had so many polarizing takes on bosses this league start- some people felt hard locked where others would delete them in <10s.

Because D2 came out before WoW and in D2 you would do the final dungeon and boss of the game in like sub 2 minutes, if even.
Do the people who post this stuff even play D2 back in the day? It was absolutely expected that you could essentially 1 shot all the bosses once everything was BiS.

You can't look at the game from the scope of broken outlier builds that will need to be nerfed.
Bosses should still be buffed at the least, rares as well. And like someone said monsters need to be slowed down. You essentially start getting insta swarmed the moment you get to maps. Even with running a stun build with maim and knockback, i get swarmed easily on my witch hunter which has forced me to essentially build flash nades around doing a screen's worth of damage to wipe everything out before i even see enemies.
I know bosses seem to have been standardized in maps to account for the fact that you can juice bosses to be much harder, but atm the baseline (which id argue is t15) is too low. T15 bosses should at least last 30 seconds against the best builds and around 1 to 2 minutes for midtier builds.

There are absolutely average builds where the current balance is not laughably easy. Its easy just not as dumb as the videos post to reddit. Those builds will obviously be nerfed so balance should not be based around builds that will be nerfed( dont kid yourself this is ggg).

There are absolutely average builds where the current balance is not laughably easy. Its easy just not as dumb as the videos post to reddit. Those builds will obviously be nerfed so balance should not be based around builds that will be nerfed( dont kid yourself this is ggg).
that's my point exactly, they showcase builds that are too strong and then they nerf them- this is intentional. what does that tell ppl about intended playstyle here? them nerfing them is not for balance reasons but so you come back and try the new toy because they broke your old one.
