Chase Uniques in 0.2.1

Specters still unfunctional and no chase for minion players. Well this is what we get for having to share dev bandwidth with a 10 year old game.

Is this why the gameplay is turning into exactly like it was in POE1? It shares every stat line and is balanced around those stat lines, so we are getting the same boring methods of screen delete as well.

In deed...i wouldn't be playing poe if it was as D3 or D4, and i am happy for the amount of complexity poe has..because that what makes poe poe..and not D3 or D4.

+1 the fact that the skill granted by item can never be 6 socket, is a huge no go for such skills


I disagree. If you compare it to firestorm you get:
0.15 damage per second vs 0.1 damage per second,
Limit of 3 vs limit of 1
Mostly the same damage as lvl 20 firestorm

So right out the box you have at lvl 19 vs lvl 20 firestorm:
40 attacks over 6 seconds at averaging 586 dmg per bolt times 3 = 70 320 dmg
vs
60 attacks over 6 seconds at 602.5 dmg per bolt = 36 150 dmg

It's double the damage of firestorm.

Plus it has a 11% crit chance vs 7%.

Add to that the ability to int stack which has always be super strong. You can get some pretty impressive damage.

Lets say you dont use the staff and you double wand +5 skill. You can't have more than +6 skills total (already has +4 on whisp ice, but we dont have the numbers yet, so to make it fair, we compare with lvl 26 firestorm)

firestorm lvl 26:
60 attacks over 6 seconds at 1250 dmg per bolt = 75 000 dmg

Even if you go up to lvl 30, i highly doubt it will be that much better than a lvl 23 icestorm.

Add to that the easy possibility to add 400% increased spell damage with 1000 int.

It will be really strong.




But the Whispering Ice is the exception.. all these other uniques are pretty meh. I know Uniques should usually not be best in slots - except its a chase Unique like Bloodmage but feels like those are all pretty unplayable overall (except from the staff). Just hope they properly tested it.
Still no fix or minor buff to infernalist deamon form, so sad you guys still didan't fix it.

It's an announcement for "Chase Uniques in 0.2.1", not bugfixes.
This is cool, PoE 2 had a bumpy start, but looks like things with it and PoE 1 are starting to smooth out now.

If you're going to give us a new cool unique staff or any other weapon with a weapon skill, please fix Lv20 weapon skills being unavailable yet required for the 5th support slot. It's ridiculous.

Nobody wants to be forced in to using very specific items. So no, a mythic unique shield should not be "ultra god mode".

Uniques are, and should be, exactly how they are named. They are unique. They do unique things. The rarer the unique, the more interesting the thing.


That's Diablo 1 unique design. Most of them you will never use. Or will use for a short time.

I'd prefer Diablo 2 unique design for POE2 uniques: out-of-place affixes + special "unique pool" affixes. A solid useful additional layer to charbuilding.
