Getting One Shot With Max Resistances is not an ARPG Game

Doing Tier 15, all resistances max out and shield at 100%, this lone normal mob just one shot me
with a bow.

This is not an RPG game, but a one-shot mechanic arcade game.

This game made me sick, mad, and angry. It's not enjoyable anymore, game mechanics is so bad.

Reaching the maximum threshold of elementary resistances is the strict minimum required.

On top of that, you need to add other defensive layouts (which are on PoE 2, I must admit, a bit hard to find as it is).

Personally, I play with 4.5K ES, 5K mana, Midn Over Matter (yes, I know, not very original) and I haven't encountered any one-shot problems (in T15, ofc).

Only a few specific bosses (sekhemas for example) have concrete one-shot capability.

The underlying problem, from my point of view, is that ES is too strong compared to the other defensive layouts currently available (or else the other defensive layouts are too weak, a matter of opinion).

How high is your hit pool - Life, ES, Mana (if MoM) and do you have any way to mitigate "Physical Damage"?
everything is just not tuned well. res should compliment your other defenses not be make or break. it seems it doesn’t even really matter anyway because i read countless posts about people having max resists, high defenses, es, hp and still get one shot by non sense. this is the antithesis of fun. i stopped playing a month ago and periodically check forums to keep up with updates hoping things change for the better.
just wait till we get reflect mobs lol
85% fire resist, 87% lightning resist, 77% cold resist and 75% chaos resist (too hard to overcap chaos btw, just way too hard) and I literally could not fit really any more life or strength onto my build without god damn Astramantis which is completely out of reach and I still get routinely 1 shot by complete bullshit like trash white mobs on my Warrior, even through my armor and block rate and everything.

I would say that yes the game is horribly balanced, it's actually quite a joke.

Campaign is fine. Going back to there with a friend to help them and the game feels amazing.

Endgame is the problem.
Endgame mobs hit too hard, move too fast, are just bullshit copied and pasted PoE 1 mobs.

So lazy. So unacceptable. HAS to be the biggest change made to the game the fastest or people WILL quit in droves.
Agreed. This is a disaster
I’m not running a meta build, but mine is no slouch either—135% fire resistance, 78% cold, 81% lightning, 91% chaos, and 80% evasion after Acrobatics. And yet, I still get one-shot frequently.

I love playing PoE2 (and PoE1, for that matter), but no game frustrates me more than this one. For all its brilliance, PoE2 often feels like a rigged arcade game. Some of these one-shots are simply unavoidable, no matter how well I react.
Bump. They vastly need to improve defenses and stop making the game so boring. The reason that these concepts work in DARK SOULS, where they clearly want to draw DNA from, is that losing has essentially no punishment in DS. You retrieve your souls, sure, but you lose nothing except time. The idea being that in a Souls game you are incentivized to try and try again, and through determination overcome things.

In POE2 you are incentivized to turn the game off because dying costs you experience, time, your map item, your modifiers on the map node you were running, and anything on the ground left un-looted. Literally wtf.
Gambling addiction means that I win more than you do.
