I am playing a somewhat tanky character and hardly die in juiced t16s. If you don't die, the punishments don't effect you. So you seem to be doing something wrong. You are not supposed to die.

Almost every death is a choice.

There are many levers in place to control the difficulty. Atlas passives, waystone tier, waystone affixes, ... all of them are controlled by the player. Their choice.

No, I'm not playing a glass cannon. I have capped res, about 6k EHP and MoM with 2.3k mana and decent regen. No armor or evasion because armor is useless and Sorc side doesnt have much evasion access. I use frost walls and freeze in my build for CC. I have done EVERYTHING I can to be defensive and still be able to hit decently hard, maybe 300k dps.

Despite this, I still run into situations of one shots or unbeatable rares. Juiced maps, not juiced maps, doesn't matter. I even unspecced out of the point that adds more modifiers to rare monsters, just to give myself a chance at survival at the expense of loot. Doesnt matter, there are still many combinations that will delete builds that aren't following the meta.

aLmoSt eVeRy DeAtH iS a ChOicE -- GTFO with that elitist nonsense, you're not impressing anyone. The punishment needs to get toned down massively until GGG gets its shit together with the game balance. I WANT the methodical game they promised, not POE 1.5. Once they have that, then we can talk about punishment. But the punishment needs to go, pronto. You elitists might need CBT to feel fun, but the rest of us don't.
