XP loss leads to player count loss.
" Right, that's why the top players are consistent league to league. They just have non-stop permanent luck every single league. |

" You asked a question, I gave you the answer and now you refuse to understand it. Also this is like the third or fourth time you've used pandering incorrectly after reading it in my sig. It's pretty clear you're totally unaware of how that makes you sound (or read). Thats okay though I'm mostly writing this for anyone that actually wants to understand why games are often filled with "punishments". Defenses are to damage as Omens are to XP penalty. Just obstacles (consequences) and possible solutions (mitigation). Intentionally put into the game that are meant to be surmounted by the gamer using "gaming". Tools for a gamer to "game it out" There are other tools, most of them involve playing the game to get better stuff or more resources (theoretically farming omens if you're reckless for example, farming better defensive gear if you're dying too often as another). Its no surprise you can't get past superficial differences to see the fundamental mechanical similarity. Introducing some obstacles later or sooner is just "asymmetric design", which is more or less required in a game design for the game to have some organic feel to its complexity. Later or sooner introduction doesn't change the mechanical nature: both things are "consequences" you're meant to deal with as a gamer. You can mitigate damage in multiple ways. You can mitigate XP loss in multiple ways. Both are trying to give you incentive to be better at the game. Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years. |

" If you are always unlucky, it's maybe not luck, now, is it ? I guess you just don't accept the consequences of your own actions. |

+1 XP lose is pure bs.
Just trying to flush the time played with no extra fun added. Always a bad idea when they add XP lose in a game. Even Dark Souls game give you a chance to get it back. And even then it's still possible to save up XP in items. |

" But even in Dark Souls every player knew that trying harder content is good only if they finished level and don't have alot of souls unspent. And you loose all your active humanity permanently. |

" yup getting off screened, disconnected mid fight, killed in a bugged fight, dying to invisible abilities, and so much more, but yeah "skill issue". typical elitest attitude, adding nothing to the discussion about a change that wouldn't effect them at all. clearly the vast majority dont like this and it should be changed. also to the person prior the devs did not say it was fine, they actually said the opposite. |

" What's with you guys? do you ever engage in social interactions. Words have to have meaning behind them instead of this nonsense. it's abysmal, they didn't even stick to any topics and then said "it's the same as evasion" I have no idea what your idea of a conversation is but it's not this. At least not in the real world. y'all need to learn to talk to people and not act like you're some superstar haahahaha. no one gives a hoot about your skills in a video game and not sure why you or elitist timmy up top need to be the ash ketchum of poe the very best at everything lmao |

" Ignoring the law of averages, which by the way means in a large group of players you WILL get some that consistent out do the others, and sometimes you get weird situations that yes they do keep getting lucky, but that's not what I'm talking about. This concept of 'builds' are not 'skill' in the way you're thinking. Builds are mathematics, which yes, is a type of skill but you think that mouse clicking and being able to one shot maps, without understanding why, is 'skill'. Builds are spending HOURS figuring out which in game powers work and do what with others, and putting them together so that all you need to do is faceroll your way through the game. That doesn't require dexterity or timing or reflexes. It mostly requires TIME. Most of us don't have that time. |
