PoE 2 - Weapon Set Passives allocation bug
Having the same issues, up to 13 passives I cannot allocate now. Not sure if my interpretation of how they work is wrong or I'm missing out on 13 passives now.

I have the same problem. I tested it out and alocating weapon points doesn't give me a buf of specified perk. I have even cheked it on dex, it doesn't go up same as other passives. The counter of weapon points is also bugged.

You can add me to the bug train. Thought the issue was going to be resolved in the lastest patch since it's kinda "game breaking" in a sense our characters are seamingly several levels behind in the passive tree 😕

I believe I may have the answer, though totally possible I'm wrong because it was just my own testing and rather quick conclusion. And although I'm not sure if it's working as intended. I still can't grasp why it would be any benefit, unless there is a branch of the tree that would be good for one weapon but negative for the other AND you have enough of the weapon set skill points 1 or 2 to get to your end goal in the tree/trail/branch.
Weapon set skill points can only be used in conjunction with a normal skill point. However, the mechanic that I believe is what's causing our perceived bug is that when you select a skill/node as a weapon set 1 or 2 skill, it consumes both, as intended, but from then on, in that trail/branch you cannot spend JUST regular skill points to further the trail/branch, it will automatically HAVE to use both a regular skill point and the weapon set skill point 1 or 2 (but to be clear, not both interchangeably) along this trail in order to get further along this particular trail/branch. So we get situations where we have 0/8 weapon set skill points 1 and 1+ regular skill points available and if you look back 8 node points it started with weapon set 1 skill point allocation, you cannot progress further there, until you get more weapon set 1 skill points AND have another regular skill point available. In conclusion, go back where you first allocated a 1 or 2 weapon set skill point and refund to it, then respend along that branch/path after making sure it shows all 3 boxes checked and it should work as you'd think from then on. I'll opt to not spend the weapon set skill points for now. Hope this helps. Maybe further testing/confirmation should happen? |

For me when I allocate points for weapon set 1. My "total points disappear" and says "0". I think it just looks that way, because I can still allocate as many point on my second weapon set :D Hope this helps!

Same issue, I tried to just refund my entire tree (level 80) and reallocate only main passive points then try to apply weapon set points…
…it allowed me to allocate the passives but my weapon set points counter is stuck at 13 each and the passives it allowed me to select aren’t actually active/doing anything. Pretty rad. |

Not a bug - it's a feature! That got me confused as well:
- You can at all times only put as many points to the board as you have passive points available. - Every weapon skill point pair requires 1 passive skill point The point is not to get "extra" passive points on the tree, but to make some of them be distributed differently based on the weapon set in use. When you gain 2 new weapon skill points - you get 2 new passive points as well. You need: - 1 passive point to allocate 1 weapon skill point - Only then can you allocate the other weapon skill point freely Example: 10 passive points, 5 weapon skill points per set - You cannot put more than 10 points on the board in use at the same time - You could put 5 freely, then 5 per weapon set each. - If you put 8 passive points, you can only distribute 2 more weapon set specific (3 per set would remain open) Zuletzt bearbeitet von Curson#0398 um 28.12.2024, 16:38:02

I am having this issue as well on my level 41 witch on xbox. The thing is is that I have used points like this before on another character and it worked as intended but currently I have 10 extra skill points for weapon slot 1 & 2 that I cannot spend unless I have "main" passive points as well. When I do have "main" passive points it subtracts that point plus one from the weapon skill allocation that I have chosen. This is a bug and is not how it is intended to work. The "extra" skill points are just that, extra points, not doubled up specific points as one of the posted replies claims.

My weapon sets revert every time I restart the game.. I have each red and green set, and when I come back only the main path is there. My Atlas boss tree also is constantly changing to an old configuration.
