Trial of Sekhemas Feedback

Yeah I made another post about this. The trial of Sekhemas last boss is completely unfun and really stupid. In some rotations I am doing 10k damage (at level 22) and he still takes like 10 minutes to kill. The arena fills up more and more with flame totems the longer the fight goes, and eventually it's actually impossible not to get hit. In a sanctum trial where honour exists. It feels so bad. I've gone in there with 400+ honour, and still lost to just flame totems everywhere because I don't have the DPS to kill the boss fast enough.
Delete this. It's the only part of the game that is awful. I didn't expect this mechanic in PoE1 and now I see why everyone despised it. Kill it with fire.

I am curious how this was passed in QA. Bunch of people going through acts with each class and trying to finish sanctum for ascendancy at the correct level with what they have, I doubt anyone can succeed. You either need god-like gear with a good gem setup, or need to be way overleveled which is just better to do ultimatum at that point.

This is just giving middle finger to most players, and saying "No ascendancy for you until act3."


Given the state minions are in and that some Occult skills require corpses but many bosses dont have adds that drop corpses i doubt that QA reached a good test coverage. My guess is they used a handful of "representation" builds. This would also explain the huge difference in quality across skills and builds.

Sanctum is a terrible mechanic for RPG-like game.
No matter how good your gear is, if you are melee, you gonna loose.
Anti-RPG content and it is mandatory for everyone. What a joke.
PoE nowadays looks more and more like a fork server with tons of custom weird experimental stuff rather than original game with carefully thought out balance brough live to players.
I originally applauded GGG for trying things out from when PoE1 was in open BETA until (I think) Blight where the ARPG took the tower defense turn and what was shown in previews and talks was not what was delivered. Sadly, the courage of trying things out to me got out of hands when those tried of things became permanent.

I believe some people might like it, I know some friends that only like some mechanics because "you get a lot of currency from them". To me, I like the general harder style of PoE2, I just wish it stayed true to itself and didn't bring a crappy roguelike into it. I would love if the roguelike genre was left to roguelike games.
Died in the last boss twice... Now i just can't get ascendecy
Agree with OP. Just not fun. Anti-melee. Last boss is also a huge DPS check that is just too dang high.
I'm ok with how hard the rest of the game is but this is just stupid and way to hard to place ascendancy behind this shit.
I'm playing melee and I really love all the POE2 proposals, I don't think it should be the same as POE 1 as many people said.

However, I can't help but agree with the others when it comes to the trials, I went through all the Bosses relatively easily until I reached Sekhemas, where I find punishing mechanics for melee and some mobs that are impossible to kill with shield aura and life regen.

When playing on Xbox there is a bug that when you lose you need to close the game to restart the test.

Please fix this and thank you for the excellent game.
I like the idea of sanctum but in it's current state, it's just not fun for melee for one simple reason. The boss has too much hp. My build is godly tanky and I'm killing every boss first time deathless in the campaign no issues.

I was playing hardcore too, until after I failed sanctum for a 4th time on the boss, while tilted on the 5th try I didn't press the death crystal in time in time on the escape room. And yaknow instead of losing all honor, instead the game just decides to 1shot kill you : )

So yeah.... f*** trial of sekhama
