Unable to Reserve Cast on Shock

After testing a while , I came to the conclusion that..

the "Cast On Shock" gem in the gem book needs a SKILL gem inserted into the Support slot.

then when you keep shocking with other skills and reach 100 energy, your SKILL gem in the support slot of your Cast To Shock skill will cast.

Basically crap! As you will loose that (inserted) SKILL + Support Gems (cant insert these with it) and will only cast the skill without any support gems on that (inserted) SKILL gem.

at least , I have not found a good use for this mechanic.

The gem you want to be triggered remembers its weapon set setting and will override the setting for cast on shock. Take it out and put it in a normal slot, this will allow you to change it to work with both weapon sets.

I have this issue with all Cast on [effect] buffs, too.

I have more than enough spirit and requirements and nothing. I am trying out fire and got the Cast on Ignite, slotted it, enabled it, played with it. Organized my gem sockets, soon as I moved it to a new slot it no longer can activate. No support gems yet. I just moved it down to the bottom of my gem slots (i organize by use, direct, debuff, active buff).

Even swapped gear so I had 160/160 spirit, none reserved, still can't activate the buff despite only needing 60 spirit.

You should insert a Skill Gem into the slot, not a Support Gem.
I.e. if you have a Spark skill, you should put it into the Cast on Shock as a Support Gem.

You have to insert a skill gem in the sockets, then it works

I had the same issue and it was because the spell I put inside was set to use weapon set 1 only. When removing the restriction I could reserve it on both swaps

cast on shock is working for me just take a skill and put it in the gem slot !
