[0.2] Cold Chronomancer Megathread. Nerfed to the ground.
I was thinking on using Original Sin ring to convert all elemental damage to chaos damage. This looks a solid idea because map and delirium debuffs are normally related to increased monsters elemental resistance exclusively. In addition, it seems almost every boss has 0 chaos resistance. So, you can get a respectable damage increased by just switching a ring.
I could also tweak my passive tree to move away from + cold skills and take equivalent chaos ones to reach equivalent damage level while reducing spell costs. That means I can drop more comets on CoC. the downside is that there won't be any shocking and freezing and as a result no damage increased related to those ones. Theoretically, a chaos oriented damage could be a strong contender for maps and simulacrum as one doesn't need to rely on shock or freeze to pump more damage. I'm not so sure about bossing though. One could be dropping exposures and hypothermia to withering and despair as boss prep mechanic. Mana is a general problem to us all as far as I can see, at least if you're using comet CoC. While fighting Arbiter T1, I've noticed that CoC, even without the meta support gems, generate so much energy that meteros were literally sucking mana after I temporal rift. I'm down to move away from +skills and try to get alternative nodes or items to increase spell damage. A well rolled effigy of cruety could be a better option to a well rolled focus if you're relying on CoC comets Just some thoughts though. This ring is 5div atm. It's an expensive toy to play now |

it seems since the last update, one can now fight arbiter T1 endlessly now. We got now a respectable punching bag to test things.
I'm sure it's an unintentional consequence from GGG, but it's a good one and I'll take it xD |

Hello everyone,
could someone explain to me why it does work like this ? I have lvl 16 CoC gem which works fine with lvl 15 Comet, but when i put a lvl 16 Comet into the slot it deactivates CoC and says missing socketed skill. I have a +4 lvl from global modifiers on comet. Spirit is certainly not an issue. Doesnt work with weapon set 1 or 2 or both. edit: nvm, finished a map then tried to slot in the lvl 16 comet back in and it works again for some reason. I have some guestions ... extraction supp gem - is it possible to play with chaos inoculation (1HP)? Staff with sigil need +all skills or can be with +all cold skills? |

" Sigil of power is a spell, but not a cold spell. so, ideally, yes you want +all skills or spells for it. Its duration scales with every + level individually. While it has breakpoints for more spell power. 13% more spell power per stage at 13-16. 14% more spell power per stage at 17-20. 15% more spell power per stage at 21-24. 16% more at 25-28. 17% more at 29-32. I like caster stuff, you can do a fun hybrid with glacial lance and this cool helmet that lets you stack attack and spell damamge, makes great for leveling, chaos dots and freeze stuff syncs really well together, you can also use the bleed stuff with spear too, campaign is ez peezy through base 1-3, so far i am now solo glacial lance and ice wall and hypothermia on my witch but i started on a hunter, and may go back to it because ritualist is such a good endgame classs with really good rings and amulet, but i think lich is better
