An unexpected disconnect occured
I have this exact problem, and every time i have to be put back to que. it is starting to be very enoying

today all worked well, but now... after a few minutes logged in the same unexpected disconnect. i cant play the game atm >.<

What ISP do you use, and what country are you playing from? There may be a bad connection between you and our servers, does this still happen when you change Realms?

I'm playing in Malaysia, with a fibre optic setup.
Tried the American server, stable latency albeit higher (380 average), no spikes though. Just got disconnected from the server after about half an hour of playing. |

" I am having the same issues right now. I start playing and can interact with things for the first 2 seconds or so and then I am unable to interact with objects for around 30 seconds before it says that there's been an "unexpected disconnection". I am playing in Canada on a work ISP, I tried creating a new character and a new Hardcore character, tried in America and Europe. Has been happening for the past 30 minutes, at least. I was able to play fine earlier today around 5pm (PST). :( EDIT: Oddly, I can keep zoning between town and the Terraces and I won't get disconnected until I sit in one zone for more than a second or so. I think I know what caused d/cs for me during the open weekend. I lagged a lot because of great numbers of people playing the game, and most of the d/cs happened after 7 sec lag (auto d/c triggered by system). I cannot veryfy it though because I don't have a beta key to check this lag/dc relation in regard to closed beta server. Wouldn't mind if I get the chance to check it anytime soon :))

Just a short suggestions.
Open a command prompt and type the following: ping -t www.google.com (the -t makes it run continuous) Then play the game. When the game disconnects, alt+tab to the command prompt and see if there were any Time Out error messages, or very high response times. Ideally, substitute the google url with the IP address for the games server...but I don't know what that is. This is just to absolutely rule out any network issues... |

Thanks Tony, that's an interesting idea.
I was able to play last night around 2 AM or so (PST), but today it's giving me trouble again :) I went to the IRC and a couple reported similar issues in the past. Oh well, I guess it's going to be this way for a while... Beta is Beta. |

" This behaviour will be due to the activation delay of the client heartbeats. We found very low end machines would often get disconnected while trying to enter instances, so we added a delay (I believe currently 40 seconds) after entering an instance during which client heartbeat timeouts do not disconnect you. I checked our logs and I'm seeing heartbeat timeout's for all of you (Numen, roman_r, akillamc, Shirotashi, dakkagod, deniskiller451, and cmart7). This normally indicates a bad connection to our servers. If the server doesn't get a heartbeat from the client for 6 seconds it will disconnect the client. It can be fairly normal for a connection to get better/worse at different times of the day - depending on what else is using your connection, or how overloaded your ISP is. If you would like to check whether the problem is your connection, please follow the WinMTR instructions in my first post in this thread http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/23154 while you are experiencing problems in game. |
