we can have Freeze Immunity from other sources

Other than flasks, where would we get this immunity?

since we don't need ES leech or ES regen from a Watcher's Eye

I think the 30 ES on hit Watcher's Eye still works and gives additional ES gain, because I don't think it qualifies as a leech.

Hello Kelvynn! I'm excited to try your build for 3.6. I was wondering if you'll have an estimate when your skill tree will be ready? I'm imagining you'll be updating your leveling guide section as well?

Kelvynn posted a PoB link on page 117 + a screenshot of 9 more points and Zelot's Oath. This was before the new skill gem data was released though.

What I'm wondering is if we could possibly selfcast Icestorm now. We got huge cast speed buff, and intensify looks interesting. On max (4) stacks it's one of biggest more damage modifiers (64% MORE!) and it also greatly reduce our aoe which means more shards will hit target. CwC will probably still be better (especially with clear speed boost winter orb gives) but it's worth at least considering imo.

I can't evaluate that before the new league goes live. But these new buff to self-cast don't solve the main problem with it: you are stuck in the casting animation and can't move, unlike CwC where you are free to move at any moment. And there is mana cost. And losing WO would reduce clear speed.

As for the crit, if we can reliably create Consecrated Ground, that's an instant +100% increased crit chance, and we can easily get +100% increased on the tree. With Assassin's Mark, is that not enough crit chance to make it viable? Consecrated Ground also grants ES regen via Zealot's Oath.

Points spent on crit chance/multi = points not spent on Int. So far every attempt to create a crit version of this build failed because of the massive loss of Int. Even if the latest buffs can finally make the crit route viable, the theorycrafting alone would take more time than we have before the new league. If you want to try it - by all means, let us know what you can come up with.

Good points, thanks for the clarification.

How about dipping into Zealot's Oath? Even a 1% regen per second from the passive equates to 100 ES per second on a 10K ES character, which is very easily doable.

Kelvynn already count it on

Yes, that's my current draft version (lv 85 base that I posted above + these 9 nodes + ZO = lv 95).

And ZO is good even without additional nodes on tree, it provides whooping 6% regen on easily available consecrated grounds. Nodes, of course, make it even more powerfull :)
I knew about SR version of this build (my friend really loves it), but for me SR was a no go. However Winter Orb changes everything.
Looking forward to trying it out as league starter in Synthesis! Thank you for your work, Kelvynn!

We already have huge ES regen on kill from Occultist ascendancy (Vile Bastion) so it seems life regen from tree converted to ES regen with ZO and regen from Consecrated Ground (triggered with a Sulphur Flask) will only be noticeable and useful against single target. And there is also Tukohama pantheon that can give us some ES regen while we don't move with ZO conversion

When we are talking about regen, i think it's obvious that it's about single target.
If anything, vile bastion cover anything we need when it's active, even leech doesn't really needed. So i wouldn't really mention those in the same sentence.
Now that we can gain benefit from the consecrated grounds, ascendant version receives additional favour points in my book :)
