Path of exile is a free to play?

Maybe I'm a little bit too old to understand it, but I need to ask it:

What the hell is up with some guys/ladys here?
They play a really good game for hundreds of hours, but don't want to spend a minimum fee for the developers?
Development; Server etc. Nothing of this stuff is in the real world free, but some people - In german we say: "Ein Fass aufmachen" - make stress for a optional small fee, which help the player to organize his stuff.

I call PoE neither pay to play nor pay to win. I call it p2s "Pay to Shine" or "Pay to Store (more)". That and not more.



Btw: Last weekend I purchased Premium tab 57&58 .. because I like to organize my stuff (Gems; Quality-Gems; different Unique-Types; Each Charakter of the League has his/her own tab) and what shall I say? The 5$ or whatever didn't hurt me, but helps GGG to continue with her game, wich I played for .. erm.. hundreds or thousand of hours.

This troll topic again... The game is not p2w at all. I play with only 5 tabs (one free) since many years and it was never an issue (I've leveled to 96 and 98 last league in SSF...). Tabs management in these screenshots is just bad.
