How i designed my unique - Skyforth Sorcerer Boots

The boots are great for pretty much any CI/lowlife build. That's what you wanted, that's what you got. (I guess)
And I'm happy you got what you wanted, even though I think they are in fact too powerful for those builds, but whatever.

What pisses me off so much about these boots though is seeing how other top tier supporters are treated (not me personally, haven't designed my unique yet) compared to what you experienced.
Seriously GGG, how can you allow an item with so many benefits while constantly beating down other supporter's design ideas deeming them too powerful when they would grant a fraction of what we got here. What is the thought process behind this? Is there one? wtf!

TL;DR
it's the fact that GGG apparently arbitrarily decides what uniques are powerful and what aren't thhat pisses me (and maybe others off) It's just not fair. Quite dissapointed honestly. :(

Yeah, this is my general take on these boots as well. I'm happy the OP got what they wanted, and that the item is useful and desired. That said, I completely do not understand how this item gets them QA and others either get released in a crappy state or nerfed into oblivion. I have two uniques to design, and most of my time thinking about them has been spent on coming up with ideas that are as independent as possible from the nerf hammer/QA arbitrariness.

GGG has dug themselves into a shallow grave by releasing these. Not only do they set a precedence and expectation for future support unique but they also released an item they fully knew they would have to nerf.

They have also essentially spat in the faces of every prior supporter who wanted a stronger item than what was ultimately released. King kongor would be undying-ly furious if he knew about this.

The only thing that can happen past this point is GGG is going to be even more stringent with releasing uniques to point where their guaranteed to be vendor bait.

I never thought about that.

Damn, these boots just keep getting better and better. Kappa
Casually casual.

All chill the fuck down boys.

It has "no regeneration", clearly a fucking hefty tax considering its benefits.

Would totally gut my low-life specs by equipping these.

However will i equip these boots on builds designed to run t12+ maps that have the "no regeneration" penalty for increased pack size constantly?

Proposition : give bringer of rain "can no longer deal cold spell damage" and reinstate it to lvl 18 gems and its old block value.

Call it a downside and balance decision and be done with it, thanks.

Only builds based around regen or some idiots focusing on having highest amounts of ES on EVERY gear will not take them.

No idea how these boots made it through balancing and QA.

Simple he paid 1000$
Simple the ilvl to MAKE it drop needs to 84 that's fucking insane like that's pretty fucking nuts.

In my experience, they don't give two shits about that. The ilvl is something else, of course.

As an aside, I don't know if Skyforth deserves all the negativity being thrown his way. It isn't his fault that GGG let his unique into the game as is. He made the unique he wanted to make and that is a good thing that he got it just how he wanted it. Giving him crap about it is just as bad as giving supporters crap for making 'trash' level uniques as other players like to do.

So Kudos to Skyforth for getting just what he wanted. Its a shame we aren't all so lucky but I am glad he got his.

The flak has nothing to do with the item itself, it's centered around the item making it in the game and passing Q&A and what precedent it entails.

Opinions on the item itself are subjective at best, for me it fails at being a unique because it has no personality or direction.
It doesn't enable anything new, it just improves on what was already strong. Which is redundant.

But that should be irrelevant since it's just my opinion, so who gives a fuck.

I care about your opinion............ when it supports what I already believe.

Silly part aside I still don't understand is why it has move speed on it. Move speed does not change the power of the item when fighting, so you still have the same power level, just without quality of life on it.

I personally am happy it is so strong, I tire of all the hate for vendor trash uniques and this is a nice change of pace.

That being said I hope this is not the buff mid and low cost CI builds need (who am I kidding there and no low budget CI builds worth using). I really like the concept of CI but I hope CI is not balanced under the assumption that ALL CI build can obtain and are using these.

Because late game boots without move speed are a joke.
