How i designed my unique - Skyforth Sorcerer Boots
No pics, no clicks!
Maybe you could screenshot the wiki pic and add it to OP so the common folk (read: me) immediately know which boots we are talking about. ;) PoE needs better social features... and more cats!

Hope they getting nerfed.
Cant understand, how you can get free power charges and nearly same stun level then life + 30% (!)MS + 100 + Mana and 6% reduced Mana res on one pair of boots. On a pair of boots! Not even a ilv84 limition would make up for all those advantages.. " Free Amuslot (No Chayula) ? 7L ? 6% Reduced Mana reservation ? Not Overpowered ? Rofl.. Welcome to the greatest of arenas, Duelist. God is watching you. Zuletzt bearbeitet von Astarte911#6271 um 18.12.2015, 05:16:48

Ladies,
Arpg´s are all about getting overpowered stuff. I don´t see a problem with these boots, in a game that is designed to oneshot every character anyway, its pretty common to hand out items that make you survive the content that is beeing provided. At one point one has to stop the nerfcycle ! It´s a pretty well made Solaris item. For the sake of longtermbalance, keep em as they are.
Spoiler
or did you think GGG is the only one allowed to make a "shavs" ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drDs-Y5DNH8

The thing is, every mod on those boots would be very strong by themselves (with the obvious-- but extremely minor-- exception). All of them put together is a level of ridiculousness not seen since the original Bringer of Rain. I thought GGG was past doing stuff like that?
You may see this as whining, it's the opposite. I'm pleasantly surprised. A comprehensive, easy on the eyes loot filter:

Seriously, how is that not broken ??? Something is broken if taking any other item in its place makes your build not different but just weaker. Something is broken if drawbacks are not anything "game-changing" but some insignificant things... and life regen is in this case. It's just forbids regen-based build's from using it. But it's not a drawback - drawback is something that every build will feel, something that needs to be "walked-around" in the tree or in your gear choices etc In this case, every caster, low life, critical, and every build on the right or top of the tree, will want this item and none of them will get to feel anything from the draback becasue all of them bases their regeneration on leeching or "per hit" mechanic. Especially now, when blood dance became so nerfed that we cannot use it regeneration as replacement to leech.
Why this item is so Broken ??
All other items or skill are pretty much balanced in this game
http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Blood_dance
Blood dance regen was considered to be broken because the drawbacks of free frenzy charge generation and life regen were only nullification of attack speed and cast speed increases. So it got nerf. When the item was created the idea was to generate frenzies and get regen but your trade-off was that all bonuses from frienzies were nullified (the was not "more damage" bonus at the time). That's major drawback for any build. http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Void_Battery Void battery gives us 1 more power charge but takes a bulk of spell dmg. To balance it out we need to generate charges, and to make it up to some good rare wand or unique, we need to get at least around 7-8 of them which needs work both on skill chain and tree. http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Righteous_Fire Rightous fire gives huge boost to spell dmg, but you need also huge investment on the tree, skills and gear to not kill yourself with that. I really like in PoE the fact that you can build end-game character using items like facebreaker or quill rain bow from some low levels by using their unique features. That your thinking and creativity really benefits here, and not just constant farming for highest level items like in diablo or many MMORPGs etc. This item takes a bit of what really matter in PoE and trash it. |

I 've said before that i think the item is well designed, but also very specific, tailored to certiain already -very- overpowred build to become even more overpowred, but i do not think it is that OP out of the box.
-Stun immunity: Yeah that's a very big one that saves you hell alot of points or the very important ammulet slot, but you have to have at least 800-1000 mana for it to be reliable on the end game, and not all builds need to invest so much in mana. Thing is that in the current state, since the boots remove regen anyway, you need leech, and leech passives are close to US anyway. So for my flicker for example i would far prefer a 300+ ES pair of boots. -"Free" Power charge: Thats more convience than anything else. You never had to sacrifice a slot on your 6L for PCoC. YOu could do it with Assasin's Mark, or have a backup attack to charge you like i did on my flicker striker. Having PCoC on your main attack was more of a convinience to do everything with the less possible button pushed rather than anything else. -Reduced Mana Reservation: That's more or a less one passive, and i see it as being tailored to exactly fit the needs of a min maxed low life build to fit an extra aura. Yeah, i do think that this particular mod was a bit much, and should not have made it. It was GGG catering to the designers demands and needs. So all in all, while i think the item is well designed -minus the reduced reservation-, i feel abit bitter for it making it untouched in the game, while other uniques, propably less powerful to begin with got the hammer. Original BoR, original Soul Taker, original Kaoms and more than anything else The Blood Dance boots. All of them perfectly fine for the needs of the current meta. Also Goddess Unleashed, there was a post in the thread that said that they had to lower the damage. I call bullshit for now, and i beleive it was mostly OVERTESTING due to the unique being very highly anticipated. Until i see proof, i bet an 133% added as fire+ 10% crit chance would have been totally fine for end game content, especially considering that we have items like Mjolner or these boots in the game. I might be wrong, but it remains to be seen. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/417287 - Poutsos Flicker Nuke Shadow

cool boots.

is that our enemies are human beings like us. They can only be our enemies in relative terms." |

The problem of those boots is in the bad design of the drawback mod.
"No life regeneration" on boots deisgned for builds with have low life and dont care about life regeneration isnt a drawback. It should be redesigned to impact something in those builds that players CARE about. Then we can call it drawback. For now its just a joke and I have no idea how GGG internaly tested it. Good drawback would be something that reduce damage in other way, something that reduce maximum energy shield, its regen proc or speed. Also naming something "Skyforth" and giving it highest movement speed mod is just not-logical at all. They would be well designed when they actualy gave -30% movement speed. You turn into a destruction machine, but you move like a rock. That are my 2 cents on this topic. |

Love these boots.
Don't so much love that my PoE now consists entirely of... Farm Sell every rare drop for shards Recipe every unique drop for chance orbs Vendor/master exchange up all scrolls, trans, augs, alts, jews and fuses to chance orbs Daily exchange chance orbs to scours Chance every white sorc drop Scour chance with every scour And I may well be doing this for the next several thousand hours :/ Casually casual.
