Enki's Arc Witch Memorial Page & POE 2 Arc Summary

So finally, which support gem is better controlled dest or chain?? It's not too hard to proc elemental overlord with controlled dest? Or just controlled dest is better for single target??

Personally I think controlled dest is better, but you can clearly see they fit different situations:

the pros of controlled destruction:
* better single target DPS
* don't require dexterity, while chain requires a lot (111) . So no meed to allocate skill point for dexterity.

the pros of chain support:
* easy to proc EO
* chain more enemies. With alternative quality gem, also chain large range of enemies

For EO, I would recommend using second skill, such as storm brand to proc for controlled dest.

Dream equipment is to have a six link with one white socket. For that, it is obviously easier to start with an all blue socket armor.

Hi exiles, I have successfully defeated Sirus up to A7, 4.4k life and 9.7k unreserved mana, mana regen up to 6.6k, but still I sometimes die from damage spikes. Can someone take a look at my character and tell me how to improve?

I don't see anything that differs much from my setup when I do the fight. I can always beat him at A8 but so far have not done so without at least one death. I don't know that there is more you can do defensively, perhaps more damage to shorten the fight would help. If I don't want to die I logout as soon as I get the stacks on me from the beams as it seems like they make movement almost impossible and almost always lead to death. I also practiced the fight a lot last season at A5 and a few times in standard between leagues.

Your eHP is already much higher than me, so I don't have a lot to suggest in that aspect. Defensively, getting fortify can help, but it takes some extra setup(Vigilant strike/Shield charge/Hardened Scars). You should probably try "kill them before they kill you" strategy. Having culling strike and unnerve can help with that. Explosion on death via Asenath's or explody chest can also help, especially with high mob density(heists, juiced maps). If you add in some conversion for the physical explosion damage it can often clear the screen on its own. Damage spikes in this game can kill even the tankiest builds(90% all res, CI, etc), so learning to avoid bad situations and paying attention to specific mobs are probably more effective. If it's a boss fight, learn the damage type of the boss and counter it via Pantheon and flasks(Forbidden Taste, for example). You can try Omeyocan for some decent attack and spell dodge. I'm also at level 98 and although I often do A8 sirus deathless I still died randomly to things I didn't notice, especially in heists or Legion encounters in juiced maps. If you're pushing for 100 you might have to do rotations or just play extra carefully.

(there are lots of things that you can min-max on your current gems and gears, but I don't think it'll make noticeable difference so I'm not discussing them here. If you are interested I can offer more thoughts.)

As for Summon Support, you say there's no pluses in boss fights, but how does Chain Support help? As far as i understand it just adds a couple of more chains for the AoE? Or am i missing something?

I think chain works by adding multipliers to the 15% more damage for each remaining chain from arc. I might be wrong but if arc chains 8 times alone and then you add 3 from chain support for a total of 11 but are targeting a single target then there are 10 chains remaining for 150% more damage.

Yeah, for Arc skill, the more chains that are not consumed yet, the more single target damage.

Also to add that: Chains support also has a 150% mana cost multiplier, which is larger than summon support (120% mana cost multiplier). That helps damage, because Archmage Support boosts damage based on mana cost.

Jeez the depth of this game keeps impressing. Thanks all for the answers, i suppose i'm gonna have to switch to chain, it's just gonna be sad to see Summon Support gone, those little buggers really help out with offtanking :D

I am having trouble finding a good wand with culling strike or/and unnerve mod(s), so I am planning to replace my life leech support in my chest armor with a culling strike support gem, do you think it's a good idea?

Yeah, I think I can take on Sirus without dying if there's no accidents, I get lower frame rates when I fight him but if the screen doesn't freeze like it sometimes does I'll do fine. I don't really care about leveling anymore (have died for so many times I think I just gave up feeling fed up and try to have fun), I wanna be able to defeat higher bosses like elder, shaper, uber elder etc, but I'm afraid that I will die all 6 times and waste the fragments to go them XD

Also, thanks for your input! I'll definitely look into explosion on death and also omeyocan :)

I am not sure about finding those mods on a wand, I thought they generally showed up on gloves, this is the pair I have and if I recall they were not cheap.

I have not really been using them much outside of boss fights as the other mods on them are almost useless. I found that these are much better for use in general.

Personally I think switching from leech to more damage instead of culling might be better. Being able to win fights faster is in itself a form of defense. I like chain but others like controlled destruction.

Also, level up another set of gems and corrupt the gems when they get to level 20 so you can get level 21 gems, I believe it makes a big difference in damage output. You did that with Arc but it doesn't look like you have with the support gems. It often fails to hit and you wind up having to do it all over again but you will get it in not too many attempts.

Oh yeah you're right, on gloves not on wands, my mistake D:

Noted! I will switch out that life leech then. Yeah, I'm still working on my gems, I usually just wait for the right gems to drop, then level them up and corrupt them. Maybe I should just save the time and just buy them hahaha

Thanks though! Appreciate the tips c:
Also, I have a few items here for anyone that want them. Pm me in-game with @OOllOl_OlOll if you need em. Not really high-end but I think they're pretty decent, I was able to kill Sirus with them.
