Imo you're perfectly right, I'm not a big fan of it either. Sure, you get a higher Path of Building number with ele focus, but the clearspeed should go down quite dramatically. Just run some maps with "monsters have 90% chance to avoid ailments" and compare the clearspeed to the normal runs. Imo it's nowhere close. In addition you are actually shocking trashmobs w/o elefocus (if you aren't oneshotting them anyway).

So there is a lot to be said for NOT using ele focus - except for bossfights, where's simply the highest multiplier. But..a gem swap or a barragesetup look like more elegant solutions.

you arent wrong.. i had to change a lot my gem to find something correct, but with this kind of build, ele.weakness cant reach an high level.. with my actual gear, its around lvl 5 only!!

edit : keep leveling this gem.. nevermind

For single-target proj-weakness is much better anyways. And you can lvl it up all the way to lvl 20. Learned it myself only a week ago or so by browsing the Doomfletch-guide by Ahfack.

Something you can do is a general G-G-B-B- setup with
mapclear: HoI-CoH-AssMark - x (frenzy/ice bite)
boss: frenzy-CoH-PCoC-Proj Weakness

Im currently running with this build but i don't recommand it. I instant die in low lv map.

I wrote a lengthy response on mobile but accidentally deleted it. Basically : yes with or without vinktars.

Non Vaalpact leech is pitiful and capped at 25-30% hp per second. Vaal pact lets you free up the life flask slots for utility flasks too. You attack fast with bows and can leech through things like shaper beam.

Yes,with atziri promise you can just face tank some less crazy bosses and it also save you on reflect.
