Get real please, it's a damage-on-full life support + energy leech in ONE gem. It's disgusting. I can have 20 ES on a life build, turn on Blood Rage and I'll have a PERMANENT 39% more damage multiplier from a defensive/utility-focused gem. This gem should not ship in its current state, simple as that. It is retardedly OP.

My build doesnt do insane damage (at all) so i might end up using both. I'm a minion build though so my 'hand waggling' DPS is Tertiary at best, and more to gain life than deal damage.

but in order to do that on a 'defensive' gem your completely negating the defensive property i.e. you should just use a regular more dmg gem.

Are you that Stupid? First it only works for the Supported skill. Its not like it gives you a global 39% more dmg multiplier. Second there are far better supports dmg wise for Attack and Bow skills. I can agree that its pretty dumb to combine Damage on Full life + ES leech without giving the same treatment to the Life Leech gem but thats GGG for you... Its not like you could use life leech for spells /shrug i hope they see their mistake and change life leech to the same or remove the dmg mods from the Energy Shield Leech gem.

But then you have a grand total of 2 ES leech per second max. Yes you also have a 39% damage support w/o a drawback but that isn't exactly ground breaking for most builds.

Although it does show just how weak the old life leech gem was, but when was the last time you saw that gem get used? Leech is almost always from the tree/gear/warlord's mark

Well, it'd certainly make for a tanky ES/EV hybrid build if you want to run all the way to the south life leech wheel.
Couple that with the new ES leech and you'll double your return on damage output with decent ES & Life pools.
Grab phase acrobatics or MoM with a good mana pool and you've got quite the potential tank, though damage will suffer.

Or just gimp your total damage output slightly and use both the life leech and ES leech gems in your attack setup.


THIS could make the slain Slayer viable for those imaginative and skilled players whose knowledge of making a build work far surpasses my own.

Well, there's a way around that.
Blood rage gives you a constant DoT, so you'll be more or less constantly be leeching ES.
If that is not enough, there's RF*, which has a nice MORE modifier to spell damage itself.
Soul Tether should also work.

*+ You don't need to stack as much fire resistance as possible anymore.

Or grab EB and now you have more damage and "mana" sustain in one.

can you pls explain why you think this gem is so op? i get it...it will be good on CI/LL or Hybrid Build, but many talk about life build + Bloodrage... why is that gem so good? you get 39% more without drawback okay, compare it with arcane search and you get 42-43% MORE + mana reg and no drawback aswell
