PoE on Mac!
Hello everyone! As I recently got into the beta test, but I much prefer to game on my Mac, I was very curious to see if I would be able to run PoE on Crossover Games. Much to my surprise, it installs and plays extremely well! I've had two crashes in about five hours, not really something I worry about. At the login screen I'm warned that my graphics card is currently unsupported and ocean water will not render properly, but this is false. Ocean water looks very nice. :)
So Mac users, rejoice! |

" For sure. I should also note that it works fine on Bootcamp, but that's to be expected, seeing as it's essentially running it on a Windows. |

Do you mind writing a little "HowTo" about this? :)

" Sure. It's fairly simple. 1. Download CrossOver Games. Free trial available. Link: http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxgames/ 2. Download the PoE beta client 3. Right click on the PoE beta client and select "Open with CrossOver Games." 4. On the CrossOver window that pops up, click install. The computer will do the rest. 5. To launch the game, open up CrossOver Games, navigate to the menu bar, select Programs, Grinding Gear Games, Path of Exile. 6. Play! Hopefully that helped you a bit :) |

Thank you..
i tryed that, but i get several error messages... It installed perfect no problems at all.. but when i try to start the game, the update window pops up vor 2 seconds, and then i get 3 Error messages: 1. The D3D device has a non-zero reference count, meaning some objects were not released 2. Failed resetting Direct3D device objects. 3. DXUTCreateDevice failed. Any clues? :) I got a new Macbook Pro 13', what about you? And i got MAC OS X 10.6.8. Maybe it only works with Lion? Zuletzt bearbeitet von nabla#5732 um 25.09.2011, 13:01:01

Hmmm....not exactly sure what to tell you. I'm running Mac Os X version 10.7.1, so maybe it is Lion. Couldn't say for sure. I've got a 27 in. iMac, but I don't see how that would make a huge difference.
Just to be clear, you were not able to patch at all, correct? Is there a way you could manually patch it, as opposed to going through the patcher? Could I just send you my fully patched PoE file, or would that be against the rules? Sorry I can't be of more help. Not much of a troubleshooter... worked fine for me. :\ EDIT: What version of CrossOver are you running? I've got 10.1.2 Zuletzt bearbeitet von Corg#1036 um 25.09.2011, 13:19:34
