Picking things up by clicking isn’t fun

If there was a toggle on poe1 league start that gave you a mageblood and 4 perfect flasks of your choice with no level requirement on belt or flasks. Do you think that's actually a choice?

" " I use that option exactly because i was tired to try to pick items instead of attacking. Very usefull =) SSF player

The act of picking up items/currency has been solved before in other arpgs, poe 2 wants to be "THE next-gen arpg" while refusing to evolve certain aspects introduced in diablo 1/2 due limitations of the time Like, why is gold a plain boring text instead of being an actual visible pile of coins or something like that? Or why so many currencies drop separately instead of being stacked by default? labels all look the same making it hard to identify items at glance, loot filters are basically a mandatory thing instead of being an additional qol |

" It's specially egregious once you notice that currencies do drop stacked in PoE 1 but not in PoE 2, pretty inconsistent. |

I'm genuinely confused by people equating this to advocating for an idle game.
Do you think that the point of this game is to manually click on currency? Do you think that manually clicking on currency adds a great deal? If so, please turn off your loot filter and go to town, you can change the name of the game from POE2 to something more apt like Loot Pickers Extreme! or other such non-sense. IN NO WAY does not wanting to pickup currency constantly mean I want an idle game experience, you do know killing monsters is part of the game right or did you forget since you seem to get off on manually clicking on currency in the game. |

Yeah, I get why some people jump to "idle game". In their head, the chore is the game. If you remove the chore, you've apparently removed "gameplay". Which is a bit like saying washing the dishes is the fun part of cooking.
But clicking 37 tiny currency labels isn't some sacred rite. It's just bad UX that survived on tradition and wrist durability. Let players decide. The clean version is: I configure my loot filter, and that choice actually means something. If my filter says "this is worth picking up", then when I walk near it, just pick it up. I've already made the decision when I built the filter. I don't want to make the same decision again, in real time, with extra clicks, while dodging projectiles. Right now it's constant double-checking: - Filter the loot - See the loot - Confirm the loot - Click the loot - Oops, clicked the ground - Walk back - Click again At some point I'm not "playing an ARPG", I'm doing inventory admin like it's a second job with worse benefits. Torchlight 2 had this solved years ago. Send the pet home, sell stuff, keep playing. It felt like the game respected my time instead of testing my mouse switches. PS: Also, why are we still doing identify scroll cosplay? Either auto-identify, or just drop items identified. If the item is on the ground, I'm already past the mystery stage. The only thing being identified is how much patience I have left. |

" I saw stacked currency for the first time in this game today. It came from the unique slot machine. a 10x of regals or something, i'm surprised it didn't do a loot explosion. Its funny when the loot explosion is so massive its shaped like a giant cross because it ran out of vertical space. And then every item is unidentified and if you cared enough to check them you would need to see an optician immediately afterwards because the Tier text is so small or you have to read and process each bit of information to see if it's worth anything. |
