Total Disgrace. Trial of Sekhemas needs big nerfs to the afflictions.

Some polish wouldn't hurt but overall the trials works pretty well and is generally easy. This trial test your decision/judgement calls, failing on that part will lead you to dead ends, yeah, you don't even need unique urns.

I've liked the Trials because they are hard and require a bit of thinking.
On my previous char, I had pretty much the most unoptimal build for the Trials; I was doing ES Reap, and my build wasn't even very good. Essentially, I was melee due to Reap; didn't have the Overkill unique for clear; and since I was ES+Life, EV or Armour didn't decrease the honour damage I took and I didn't have CI for Bleed/Chaos immunity. And I was on HC so I also had to be mindful about being defensive enough to not die. It took me 4 attempts to finish the 4 floor Sekhema for my 4th Ascendancy. To maximize my odds, I specifically farmed for l75 Sekhema, gathered all relics I could every run, etc. When I finally beat it, it felt so awesome because I had put in the effort. I had to genuinely learn to play better and learn how to play the Sekhema RNG to my favour. I get that it feels too hard to many. I do think tho that most of the time, improving your strategies gets you through. My tips: - Focus on Sacred Water and the Merchants. Having some extra water on your relics is good. If you early on get a boon that gives you more Water, that's very good to take. - Be mindful about the afflictions you have taken and try to gauge how dangerous they really are. And know that you can often find ways to get rid some of them later. - Movement Speed is like #1 Boon. - Seeing further in the path and having extra rooma revealed to you is superb. - Use an Ignite immunity charm. - Honour res is very important; Max res is good too, but less useful than it might first seem like. Problem is that it's less valuable the more you have due to Honour restore sources not scaling with it. Personally, having done 4 floors on HC without ever buying relics on several very different builds, I'd not nerf the afflictions. Why - because with a good strategy to the Trial, you more often than not finish it with like 12 Boons and 4 Afflictions. The fact that there are afflictions that you must avoid or have a high risk of failing the run is great, because it increases the importance of smart pathing and forces you into tough choices. It's good design. |

" I found that with the Druid sometimes it's a bit sluggish , especially for that sands area in Trial of Sekhemas, i think it's on the 3rd floor. I failed twice, I'm not doing Trial of Sekhemas again with this character |

I absolutely HATE the trials in this game. I hate them so much so that I am about to just start RMTing them. My time is more valuable to me than spending all my free time after work failing trials due to server instability, or farming stupid relics forever, or just in general running this shit over and over and over. I love the game but the trial mechanics, etc just turn it off for me abd make it not fun.

My issue with trials, Is every run just relies purely on RNG
You can be completley fucked in some scenarios, and nothing but lucky in others, no real method or pattern, JUST RNG Same with THE ENTIRE GAME Not fun, trials are possible, just RNG dependant, thats not fun |

Meanwhile I just get the choice between "not being able to see ahead, or not being able to see ahead."
Which doesn't matter because it's easy, but it's also super boring as it's just the same exact 8 or so tiny rooms looped over and over and over... Zuletzt bearbeitet von Jhaerik2#3188 um 20.01.2026, 22:11:02

" Sometimes RNG will get you; if you're level 81, have on full relics with honor res and max honor, you should be able to do this with ease. The honor system is scaled from your equipped gear and your stat sheet. I would argue you have little to no defense on the passive tree and/or your gear is bad based off how much honor you have with relics on. 2500 is very low; you should be at least double that. Upgrade your items, stack whatever defense type you're targeting where you can, and when you're picking a path, don't just look at the rooms and what they reward. Try to follow a path that's going to give you the most options in terms of ways to go. If you're picking a path that has limited direction, you will get burned. I think once you learn it properly and understand how your gear and stats affect your honor, you will have an easier time. Try not to rage post when you're struggling; ask for help. If you CBF with any of that, then just pay for a carry; im sure someone in trade would be doing them. |

" Instead of being greedy and picking the shiny nodes, look several steps ahead and pick paths that will give you multiple pathing options. You'll be more likely to not be forced on bad afflictions. Besides, Sekhema has been nerfed so much last leagues I don't understand how people can still struggle so much... With relics with movespeed, resistance, increased life/defences it makes it easier than the basegame. |

" This is just not true. There's RNG sure, and enough RNG that technically you could get nothing but really bad afflictions and end up with zero boons by the end of it, but in practice, you can stack the chances to your favor to a significant degree. I mean, in my last five trial runs, on four my boons/afflictions looked like this in floor 3 (and even better by the end of the run): ![]() It's fairly consistent to get 2-4 times more total boons than afflictions; and to get to pick afflictions that have only a very small negative effect on your run. Which is why I don't see why the afflictions should be nerfed further. Unless their amount was also increased or the boons were nerfed. Zuletzt bearbeitet von tzaeru#0912 um 21.01.2026, 03:35:18

I remember I died when Zarok had 1% HP left and only one hit was left to kill him, after that, the desire to go to the sehem somehow disappeared
