The icons are not removed. The game mechanics are removed.
Before you enter the map, it is not possible to know what you will find there.

You can add content with tablets, and besides that - everything else is generated at random, when you open the map.

If for example, you put ritual + expedition tablet, the game picks like 1-3 other things, like rogue exiles, breach, boxes, wisps, delirium etc...

And puts them in your map.

BUT WHY???? NOOBS MODE OR SMTH WOTH ICONS - for casuals???

Because they are batshit crazy.
