Request for Druid (transform into any beast)

I gotta be honest i think the static druid transformations are not very interesting and thats in large part why im requesting this, this is how it should be if anything imo.
Despite playing every class and ascendancy in PoE1 this is one im probably going to skip entirely (forever) unless they add an option like this. I don't know a single person who likes the current trajectory of druid and don't get me started on that infernalist transformation that (again) nobody has said anything positive about that i know. I do not enjoy saying the above negative things but now is the time for being honest. "transformations" seems cool but something's off with the current direction. The ability to transform into any beast would be really cool, like instead of a bear you could transform into a quadrilla or something

I don't like the idea of transforming into any beast at all. It is a lot of work for the developer to design a single transformation like bear form and create a skill set for that including gameplay, sound and visuals. We'll get maybe 3 of those and a human druid skill set.
If we could actually get 30 beast forms in that quality, I would be all for that, but in practice it would be just be something like a single ability per beast that is likely generic or at least is not part of a coherent skill set like 5 different bear form skills would be. What do I mean by coherent skill set? Skills that have synergy with each other, that can combo, that lead to a certain playstyle, e.g. a bear being tanky and slow while a wild cat could be quickly attacking, jumpming in and out of melee range. We also would get the generic graphics of already existing beast instead of new graphics were the druid bears similiarity to the beast he transforms into and there are additional features like shapeshifting animations or passive/ascendency skills refering to a specific animal form. I see it similiar for the tameable beast: I would rather have 3 different fully developed animal companions that have multiple active skills I can use during combat and that synergize with the huntress, that maybe I can ride, that feel distinct in their gameplay, feel more alive with varied animations and behaviours, passive skills, maybe an ascendency that specializsed into fighting together with my animal companion. Currently they feel strong in the sense of distracting enemy attention succesfully and granting me a good damage buff, but at the same time its boring and generic and the developers needed to spend a lot of time fixing bugs and issues that occured with certain beast abilities / affixes. |

" Well all the assets for what im talking about are already developed and i'm not asking for any additional forms like the ones for the base druid. Transformations in the way im talking about are already possible and most of the monster stats are already balanced for raise-beast as well as the tags if you could transform into it or not. There's no coding in new ability so much as you'd just be using the ones the monster has and whatever other comparable skills the monster type would allow as it would be designated somehow (a weapon type) if they feel like going so deep with it. Pretty simple stuff here it uses already present assets to create a druid that is much more like what one would expect to see in Path of Exile. Generally i try to ask for things that would enrich the experience of the most exiles, many of the features we now enjoy are things i have heavily requested over the last decade and i would wager this is one of those things that would affect a lot more people positively. I thrive here becasue this game offers complexity that is hard to find in any other game and GGG would do well to remember that when adding things like druid that they are to flow with that same creative potential if it is to truly be PoE2 Innocence forgives you Zuletzt bearbeitet von SilentSymphony#3358 um 21.10.2025, 14:33:52
