What is the Point of Dodge Roll?

dodge roll isn't for rolling through a gigantic goup of mobs because you let yourself get cornered. it's for avoiding like one hit. Panic rolling isn't going to do you any good.

"It's not for dodging monsters,it's for one big hit" in a game where the main threat is monsters is hilariously awful no matter how hard you try to spin it.

If its only function is on bosses,and even then a specific instance on said boss,then it doesn't serve any actual function that walking around the attack does.

monsters also do big hits that you can dodge. idk what part isn't clear here. dodge roll is not the tool for escaping a horde of monsters. the tool is use your brain and be aware of your surroundings.

Dodge Roll isnt supposed to bring you out of physical restriction you have created yourself. It's supposed to help you dodge attacks. It gives you the opportunity to not get hit by something even though your hitbox is still within the attacks range. See a big fat AoE on the ground that is right about to explode? Dodge Roll can negate that damage. See a very fast projectile being right about your face? Dodge roll is your best friend. See a big sword coming right at you? Again, let dodge roll do the work.

Furthermore it helps you to navigate through enemy crowds, as long as they don't form a closed formation in front of you. If enemies managed to surround you in a corner, then ask yourself, who's fault it is that YOU are in a corner SURROUNDED by enemies. I mean, you are the one controlling the character, not GGG. So better stay away from corner if you can't handle them? Or dodge roll out of crowded situations BEFORE you end up in a corner?

It's really simple, try it out.

i wanted to brake dance with Asala, but u know ... this is an early access ...

edit: on more serious matter, some times, in towns, u all gather like a swarm of mobs on top of that stash, so i just "really need" to dodge in there to acces my stash, but sometimes, i get the guild stash by mistake

Because GGG decided it doesnt bring harm to be able to dodge roll in towns.

To answer the thread title: I use it to get out of the way of stuff. Or I move slightly in one direction or another. Both work.
