Remove XP penalty

The audacity of including "take no risks" in this post while advocating for the removal of the #1 risk that exists in the game right now.

What's "boring stuff" for you is what makes the game compelling for me. I don't want to just jam every single passive and affix into DPS and mindlessly click my way through and endless series of maps. I don't even understand what I'm risking in this scenario. Losing a Waystone of which I have an endless supply? Bricking a node on an Atlas that quite literally has an infinite number of them?

The risk of XP loss is what makes the game exciting and I find the process of balancing defensive and offensive capabilities interesting and fun. Honestly XP loss is probably the thing I like most about the game -- it used to be standard in RPGs and I appreciate that GGG has held on to it.

I have the utmost respect for players that like the  'xp loss on death'  gameplay mechanic - your opinion is valid and im not here to argue against you.


Sadly, from my experience with the game since December, this mechanic is the single main reason i quit playing Endgame.

I dont find it fun, dont find it engaging, dont find it challenging, dont find it rewarding - i only find it time consuming and frustrating.

Im always one 'server lag spike', one 'fps drop', one 'split second' distraction away from losing 30min to 1h of progress - as if Endgame was not difficult enough for me and finding spare time to play is not easy.

If possible; one very simple way to accommodate both types of players is with every new league, you create a version with this mechanic and one without.

What im advocating for is more player choice on how we play the game with every new league - if possible.

On top of that; i just found a bug where the game was not giving xp after death - it took me 15min of play to realize i was wasting my time and had to restart the game to fix it - therefore, these 15min of playtime were lost and useless for character progression. 


If possible, i humbly request that GGG gives us more option of engagement with the game so we can tailor the experience to our level of proficiency and available time.

I love the xp penalty, it teaches bad players they're bad if they are willing to listen and pay attention.

Nobody just deserves to get level 100, it's an achievement and hard to get for many by design and for a reason.

Just get good instead. Do not turn POE 2 into Diablo 4. None of you deserve level 100 if you can't bother to l2p. Levels are the most powerful thing in the game, free levels just makes the game way easier.

note -- i started in 2019, i've had several 99's but I've NEVER cared enough to hit level 100 in over 6 years of playing.


none of you just 'deserve' to level if you can't even do it without dying. That's a core fundamental of this game, and it should never go anywhere...
