Abyss ground DOT

Just another thing in poe that is anti melee.
Stop adding on death effects.
Stop literally memeing and adding ground effects the same color as the ground.
I know this is standard for AAA slop that you make ground effects and mob abilities the same color as the ground for "artistic value", but can you just stop for once?
Dessecrated Ground doesn't seem to be chaotic damage: I have 60% Chaos resistance and still melt when I'm on it, while chaos spheres from rare monsters don't take more than 20% of my health when they explode.

Physical, the damage type only Armor can handle in huge quantities, AND it disables life/es recovery? Holy bejesus, that's absolutely horrible. What were they thinking?!

Nothing should be disabling life/es recovery. That is the epitome of poor design. It sucked in Maven, it sucks everywhere. Find better ways to put the player at a disadvantage.
Not only is it hard to see, but as with damage in general your character barely reacts at all, they don't grunt or scream when hurting so you have to rely on the game knowing to throw up the red tint on the edges or notice your life rapidly going down because the graphic and sound effects barely tell you anything and there is usually not even a detriment icon either.

Even after the patch in which they said it was reduced (0.3.0b i think) it is still melting me. Drains 2800 life in about 3 seconds. If its physical i have 90% armor that isnt working against it and if its Chaos i have 70% resistance that isnt working against it. I have to kill these mobs with 2 totems, a warcry and sunder because i cant finish a single attack animation without that being instant death.
Came to mention this. The abyss mod is called Shade Walker, I believe, it completely disables melee play. Had to slot Spear Throw in my bar just to deal with it.

Is switching builds mid map the desirable way to play?

Also, GGG insists on "on death" effects. Monsters should pose a danger while they are alive, not after they die.
Armour doesn't do anything against physical DoT.

This is just an anti-melee mechanic.

Its deadeye league guys. no surprise.
I mean that thing having insane degen is bad enough, but WHY block recovery? I'm just glad i switched from warrior to merc so i can just kite around and never touch anything of any shade of green. Still sometimes i step on it and i swear on HC that thing is more scary than seeing silverfist charging at you on a +monster speed map.

GGG should really stop just arbitrarily disabling defenses. And yeah it's yet another mechanic that makes ES just plain better than anything else.
