Please Remove One-Shot Mechanics – It’s Ruining the Game

I love the complexity and challenge of Path of Exile 2, but the one-shot mechanics are absolutely killing the fun—literally.

You’re cruising through a map, everything’s going fine, full health, playing smart—and boom, out of nowhere, you’re dead. No warning, no buildup, no chance to react. Just instant deletion. It feels like I’m being punished for not having a crystal ball.

The health bar doesn’t mean anything if it can go from full to zero in a single frame. It turns what should be strategic and skill-based encounters into trial-and-error punishment. I’m not asking for handholding—but please, give us telegraphs, ramp-up damage, or some kind of reaction window.

One-shots don’t make the game harder, they make it more frustrating and unpredictable. Please reconsider this design for the health of the game and the sanity of your player base.

Anyone else feeling this?

They will not change it. Believe me....
Agreed. The reason one hits are embraced in Dark Souls is because there is usually a huge reactable wind up or predictability to it.

The chaotic unpredictability of POE makes one shots more frustrating than - enticing as an obstacle to learn and overcome.

The crazy one-hit damage spikes in POE remind me more of Borderlands 2/3 end game... and they adressed that problem with health-gating. That's what I think GGG should do, with maybe a 1 second period and a 5 or 10 second cool down until next health gate

Probably, GGG would like to remove them... except of predesigned boss abilities, but they are cant do this. They are doesnt know HOW to, without loosing "game balance".

That's not hard at all. All monsters on a map must do ~same damage. But for some reasons they made certain monsters' attacks extremely powerful. Probably the idea behind that was that you must pay attention to each mob type while playing, but with classical poe-1-like speedy screenclearing it is impossible. Actually it is impossible even in Poe1 as same problem persists there for many years.
Every life character ever will have this problem. You can get enough ES to avoid being one-shot but not life.

Then again, there are warriors that make it to level 100 in hardcore doing life builds. Maybe it is just a skill issue, or a late game evasion/ life character thing.

+1 completely agree
Bump +++
The only time one-shots should have a chance at getting you is when obnoxious rare mods and/or boss attacks team up with juiced up area-mods - or like telegraphed pinnacle boss slams, and some campaign boss slams that are basically skill-checks.

If you're getting *truly one-shot* by unexpected errant attacks in zones that aren't significantly juiced - that is a build issue and I think you should revisit your defenses because it means you've got a gaping hole in there somewhere.

What mobs are giving you the deletion treatment? Maybe we can help troubleshoot your defenses.

the ONLY one shot mechanics that are acceptable are stacked once (5 stacks =1 shot)

and stacks should be able to be reduced overtime if u stop messing up in some way..

just random 1shots are completely anti newbie friendly and just stupid imo
